MIGHT BE? Unfortunately that’s a safe bet.

Good to hear, appreciate the update.

I agree with all you have said regarding admin. They are DESTROYING WT.

        • I saw where Dave Campbell's Football posted Allen High School's football schedule. The last game of the season Allen is playing Plano East at Kimbrough Stadium. At first I was curious how Canyon was able to land such a well known 6A program and their game so far from the metroplex until I researched and discovered that Plano has one of their own stadiums named Tom Kimbrough Stadium. 😂

If not do what Sul Ross and Western Oregon is doing and politely ask for a$$ kickings from Incarnate Word and ACU to supplement that athletics budget. Problem is WT is doing neither right now in my view in football.
WT people - with the facilities that are in place there. is there a proportional financial commitment to the program? Is the AD out there looking to fund the program better? Or has the WT president/administration screwed up that part of the athletics program post-Carthel?

WT could be the premier DII and even FBS program in Texas if they had truly wealthy alum who would put up $$$$ for NIL.

But there current admin and culture is not a football inducive enviroment. Until that changes, they will be mediocre with a rare/occasional good year.

Did you think CISD would keep the name? The stadium looks nice!

For a D2 program, WT is flush with cash from student taxes alone. But to your point, I've never been impressed with the financial grass roots support of the program from supposed boosters. Lots of bravado and not much $$. There are certainly SOME supporters that give significantly. But if you can't completely sell out your 8,000 capacity football stadium with season tickets at a measly $100 price, you simply don't have the support from the community that you need to be successful. Much less extra contributions above and beyond. And if you are a WT supporter not even buying season tickets to their major sports, you aren't really a supporter.

WT has always had conditional supporters. "I used to give until they fired so-and-so." "I don't buy season tickets because they suck." "I quit buying tickets when they eliminated the cheerleaders." Real programs have support through the good times and bad.

If I was WT, I would first focus on getting 6000 season tickets sold every year. Cross that bar and then worry about major gifts.

Mediocre is too generous for the Lynn regime. He has 8 wins in 2 years. He will be starting a new QB for the 3rd time in 3 years. At most we can hope for 2 wins before October when Sul Ross shows up for homecoming.

I'm expecting him to be gone by mid October. If he loses to WNMU it should be sooner.

They are never firing Lynn mid-season unless he is 0-6 and sexually harassing the cheerleaders.

                      • I don't see a D2 firing a coach mid-season unless there exists gross misconduct.

Then fire him now and make Don interim coach!

Put some Rangers tickets in the QB equipment bag with the envelope signed "Coach Lynn".

Be careful or Buffalo/Islander Alum will bet you between $1,000 and his full government pension. 7070707
