Regardless of what was discussed in the year end meeting, it still raises questions about the WT football program when the STARTING QB, not the back ups, decides to transfer. It he really is looking for a better opportunity, what does that say about the WT program especially from a starter. Don’t get me wrong. I am WT fan and season ticket holder in multiple sports. I am just tired of a lousy FB program.

I agree, tired of mediocre/below average in football. Honestly he could have felt slighted for not getting the start from game 1. They went out and got a transfer that started over him for 4 games when he was the one in the program that started as a true FR. I don't like the trajectory football is on with this staff, year 3 or bust in my opinion. It has been underwhelming to say the least.

There are getting ready to be 6000 FBS and FCS players hitting the portal due to the new D1 roster limits. WT better be figuring out a way to grab a couple of dozen of these players; everyone else will be. College football recruiting and player acquisition is a whole new world. Building a roster has become more important than the Xs and Os.
This is a one-time floodgate that is getting ready to open, and it won't be opening again next year. D2 programs that don't seize on it are going to be getting their arses kicked around the next few seasons.
Hopefully WT is fully engaged as to what is about to happen. Snooze and lose.Last edited by MooseLodge; 11-25-2024, 10:32 PM.

This is the new normal of college football regardless of level, so I don't think it says anything one way or the other about a program. Can't blame the kid for looking for another opportunity possibly better. I personally felt he was a good QB if his first read was open, but was rather average if not; he would get happy feet and scramble way too often

*For the record I don’t believe WT had a strategic plan.

What D2 conference would you have WT join?
