TONS of people are turning to Texas Longhorn beef. With more and more people being health conscience, especially in affluent and educated areas, Longhorn beef is becoming a must have.
Now, if you shop at large, corporate markets, (haha) then NO, you don't buy Longhorn beef or Beluga Caviar.
Maybe stick with your Ballpark Frank's. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Angelo State has some question marks now, they've made far too many mistakes and the running game has struggled.

That's all I'm saying. It's a blip on the TX beef production radar.
I've tried it. It's similar to bison. It's not bad, but normal beef cows are more flavorful in my opinion. Beefmaster, Angus,, etc...
If it is someone else's favorite thing I'm ok with that. To say TX beef is all about longhorns is just not true. That's all I'm trying to correct. Not someone else's individual preferences.

Thanks guys, I sure have enjoyed reading about cattle with some football mixed in.
Years ago when I was growing up in East Texas there were more Dairy cows in East Texas than the whole state of Wisconsin. The Dairy Capital of the world was Sulpher Springs not far from Commerce. Every small town in East Texas had a Dairy some multiple. Federal Government showed up and bought out all the Dairy farms because we didn’t need them. This one guy had a large operation and was paid $2 million to cease his operation. He then sold everything else on top of that money. He is the County Judge today.
I grew up on a 15 acre farm and we had a Milking Shorthorn. She was like a pet dog but I hated milking her by hand. Even with her calf another from the nearby Dairy she produced too much milk. Your arms would go numb milking her.
Another lesson I got was out in West Texas hunting on Four 6 Ranch. I was told by the owner it was named after the winning poker hand on how he got the Ranch.
I noticed he had a large herd of Longhorns. I told him they weren’t good cattle for beef production. The horns are not good at the feed bin or transporting cattle as it limits the number you can transport.
He asked if I had ever played golf? Confused I said yes. He asked me do you play with the same club in every situation? I laughed and said no.
He went on to tell me the Longhorns somehow escaped early Spanish Settlers in the 1500s and thrived with no one taking care of them. He said no calving problems, they fend off predators, they don’t need me to hand feed them and in case I didn’t notice there wasn’t a lot of green for them to forage on. In other words they were the only cattle for his tastes and what he wanted to put into the Ranch.
So, I guess there is a niche in every situation.
Angelo looks to be taking a step back. I’m been surprised Kingsville has had success with their limited resources.
UTPB is still a mystery but I believe they will beat WT unless they start catching on to the new system at warp speed. Despite all the pissing and moaning of some I like having the Northwest schools in the Conference. Wish someone would convince those convicts at Highlands to come over as well and join other NM schools.
Heck, shed some of those non football playing schools if there are too many schools in the conference.

How can you correct something that wasn't said or implied?

Channeling my boomer voice: "Son back in the 80s there was farmland to the horizon as far as the eye can see. Now we have all these damn dairies and windmill farms everywhere and it just ruins the landscape".

There's a lot more than just QB play that goes into completion percentage:
OL performance
Down & Distance
Play calling
Drops
Missed PI calls
BTW 36/66 55% on the season, 230/446 52% WOU career.Last edited by SPWOU; 09-22-2023, 04:46 PM.
