It was secured as soon as WT's name was revealed in the selection show. You never are firing a D2 coach for making the regionals in anything unless they break the rules. -
Tyler had no injuries.
Their shooting was poor today as it was against Kingsville last week. WT played good defense today

Congrats to both WT teams on their regional appearances. Can't remember a time ever where a WT team lost to the same team (LCU) 4 times in a season and were soundly dominated in all 4 games.Comment

WT men played pretty well against a senior dominated very talented Mines team. Had trouble putting the ball down-missed several gimmes during the game. Mines was bigger and shot the ball better.Originally posted by Buffalo/Islander Alum View Post
With 4 freshmen getting lots of PT, everyone else being sophs, and only 2 juniors on the team. Tom Brown's Buffs were not the same as usual. Replacing AA Larry Wise, Ryan Hold, and Zach was a tall order. The big question Brown (and every coach) faces today is who will return next season. If he can keep this group together, get Brock back next year from injury rehab, add his son Zach from Amarillo HS (a legit mid-range D1 talent and knock down shooter), get a portal guard and one post to help out Pagatto inside, WT will be back on top next year. Also, if 6'6 freshman Jaylyn Sledge can add 15 pounds in the weight room-he'll be a legit stud. Buffs had 3 on the LSC all-freshman team including Narit Chatokavanich who was LSC freshman of the year.
If you look at the teams in the region that are dominating, they are experienced senior-laden outfits. Like WT was last year.

Just saw that LCU beat TWU for the womens BB regional championship. The Lady Buffs helped LCU get there going 0-4 versus LCU this season. Ridiculous! But sadly Prock will keep his job.Comment

I would say LCU earned it through the regular season with WT and everyone else. It sucks for Texas Womens that you beat a great team 3 times and then have to play them a 4th time in the most important game. Law of averages its going to catch up and unfortunately for them it did. My point about Lady Buffs going 0-4 vs LCU was sarcasm. It just illustrates how Lady Buffs basketball has lost the dominance it once had. Not WT related but LCU women lost their first round elite 8 playoff game to Pittsburg State last night. Makes you wonder how Texas Women's would have done.
Dallas Baptist men has the 3 seed and plays 6 seed Lake Superior State this afternoon at noon in the first round of their elite 8.Comment

With LCU beating WT baseball this weekend. I believe that as a whole, WT Athletics has fallen to 3rd in west Texas region, behind LCU and ASU.Comment

Men’s & women’s track & field continue to dominate. Buffs & Lady Buffs both won their 5th consecutive LSC titles. As for baseball, pitching collapsed at the end of the season much like it did last year. And neither have I heard much about VB. But with the just the returnees, not counting any recruits, the Lady Buffs should be good.Comment
