Needs to be change. The Lady Buffs have been terrible offensively since Prock took over.

Since I will have more time this weekend to research I am guessing the non conference schedule was weak with being 2-3 against RMAC teams in the top 10 rankings?

That UCCS upset of Adams State opened the door for Western to make the RMAC finals which should help.

Adams, Pueblo, ENMU, and WT losing helps you cause.

Kingsville I would assume is around Western in the 11-12 range and they have the biggest upset so for with beating Tyler yesterday.

Looking at things at face value, it would probably be helpful if Black Hills State beats Mesa so its a Western/Black Hills State final matchup.

They will likely wait until Monday when WT's name is not selected for the playoff field on selection Sunday.

It's hard to break into the D1 basketball club from D2. Too many brand name D1 assistants that are in the hunt. D1 boosters demand them.

              • WT men come back from an early 14 point deficit to blow out and upset Midwestern State 70-57.

WT made their first 19 FT and finished 21-24 from the FT line.

That should punch their ticket to regionals.

                  • Well looks like both WT basketball teams get a second chance in the regionals.

                    Women: #6 WT (18-12) vs. #3 UT-Tyler (25-4)
                    Men: #7 WT (29-11) vs. #2 Colorado Mines (27-4)

Personally WT women are overseeded and probably could have made a case for Kingsville making the tournament over WT.

This also means get used to Prock for another year.

Looks like UCCS winning the RMAC tournament ended any slim hope for Western for their name to be called.

You might be right, but I doubt slipping into the NCAAs and then a thorough butt whipping in the first round of the NCAAs will have done anything to help Prock. The results since he has been at WT have been way under the typical performance line. Allegedly a super nice guy, though. I predict it will be his last game at WT.

At this point I would be extremely surprised if WT removed Prock now. Hard to justify that making the regionals unless they lose by 30+ points. It might be a little different story if this was University of Texas and you kept losing first round. You saw how hard and how long it took WT to remove Hughes even when the football team quit. Maybe this could be a good thing and this is a wake up call to really concentrate on portal recruiting and coaching adjustments to compete with the top 3 in the conference.

                          • Lady Buffs upset UT-Tyler. Sadly, Prock just secured his job at WT for another year.

                            • WT had their typical Q1 start. Offense was completely ineffective and were down 13-5 at the end of the quarter. To their credit, the coaches made some adjustments and WT’s offense woke up from Q2 on. Played good defense against a Tyler team who can light up the scoreboard with their shooting.

While I am not a fan of Coach Prock, turning this game around and beating a 3 seed with a 24-4 record (20-2 in LSC) is a noteworthy accomplishment.

Next up tomorrow will be the winner of LCU vs UCCS.

Tyler collapsed the last two games losing to Kingsville the first round of the LSC tournament and then losing today to WT.

                                Were their injuries involved?

Great win by WT and good luck next round.
