All things being equal, only the power 4 (with very few exceptions) are what matters in college sports.

IF they can get 2 million dollars to get their a$$ kicked then more power to them.

Heck I would take 2 million dollars to take a beating from Canelo Alvarez for 10 rounds.

Haha. I said I would take the beating. I have as much chance of taking on a MMA fighter as WT does winning a FBS national championship.

I had the honor of growing up and going to school with Brandon Slay (olympic gold medalist in wrestling from Amarillo) since junior high.

I was on the wrestling team with him for a couple of years and quickly figured out at a very young age that there are certain people you never eff with.

ETA&M is such a big deal on SMU's schedule that they aren't even mentioned here. Starts with "Week 2".

I am sure its that way for most FBS teams until it turns into a big deal. Most recent was Baylor in 2017 using Liberty (when they were FCS) as a warm up game with a loss and started 0-8.

Also no I am not stating ET A&M has any shot in their two games.

              2) Wendler flips the bird to the other coaches and unilaterally brings in the GV assistant athletic director not originally on the list.
              3) Everyone gives Wendler a pass that this was great out of the box thinking.
              4) New AD is going to bring back the glory days of WT football (rah rah rah).
              5) Several months later no one can stand the guy and WT athletics titanic found the iceberg in the Atlantic.
              6) Now hate and angst back at Wendler for a seemingly incompetent hire that wasnt on the original list.
              7) Despair and depression that WT is sinking further in athletics and say goodbye 100% to any D1 talk.

              Did I miss anything?
Yes, you forgot the lipstick this pig will need to at least give off the appearance of looking attractive !!!

The real malpractice is being stuck in a conference full of punch bowl turds. Too many in the Southland to name.

I do like the scheduling of at least some quality opponents

Not sure Moose about the $2 Million but I am sure you decidedly disagreed with the Tarleton AD when he said he was working with $39 Million budget

JMHO but I solidly believe the AD knows his budget

Yes, the NAME is finally what it should have been all along. Thanks for the props again. Makes me feel good all over more than any one spot when I hear East Texas A&M

If the Southland is "miles and miles better than the D2 life", you were doing D2 life very wrong.

What he "says" and what public records say are two very different things. I'll go with public record, since falsifying those would be both federal and state crimes.

                        $22 million.

Once again Moose you fall short on perception.

Do you truly believe that number on paper is all the revenue the Department receives ?

if you do then the Athletic department has done their job

unfortunately for me I know too many in Education and Collegiate sports. What is on paper is not the whole picture

I could say more but it’s not worth saying in an open forum

Yes, I do not believe those records to be falsified. But if they are, feel free to share in an open forum. I'm sure lots of folks would like to know where the other $17 million is hiding.

There isn't an FCS program in the entire country that is at even $30 million budget. That would be much more than many FBS programs.

                              NDSU is over $30MM

The Tarleton numbers, as all in the Equity data base, do not include coaching salaries.

Tarleton isn't paying $17 million to its coaches, and good find on NDSU. Them being a flagship state school and geographically isolated for travel, it would make sense they would have a very high budget. That's more than a lot of FBS programs.
