haha. You not familiar with how this works? Getting paid to play the game- most likely going to lose, probably by a lot. Meanwhile it’s a huge boost for funding the programs in the last year of transition to D1. It would be malpractice not to take those games.

The real malpractice is being stuck in a conference full of punch bowl turds. Too many in the Southland to name.

I do like the scheduling of at least some quality opponents

Kinda Ironic:

1) A list of AD candidates to interview and hire and he wasn't on the original list.
2) Wendler flips the bird to the other coaches and unilaterally brings in the GV assistant athletic director not originally on the list.
3) Everyone gives Wendler a pass that this was great out of the box thinking.
4) New AD is going to bring back the glory days of WT football (rah rah rah).
5) Several months later no one can stand the guy and WT athletics titanic found the iceberg in the Atlantic.
6) Now hate and angst back at Wendler for a seemingly incompetent hire that wasnt on the original list.
7) Despair and depression that WT is sinking further in athletics and say goodbye 100% to any D1 talk.

Did I miss anything?

ETA&M is such a big deal on SMU's schedule that they aren't even mentioned here. Starts with "Week 2".

I am sure its that way for most FBS teams until it turns into a big deal. Most recent was Baylor in 2017 using Liberty (when they were FCS) as a warm up game with a loss and started 0-8.

Also no I am not stating ET A&M has any shot in their two games.

Haha. I said I would take the beating. I have as much chance of taking on a MMA fighter as WT does winning a FBS national championship.

I had the honor of growing up and going to school with Brandon Slay (olympic gold medalist in wrestling from Amarillo) since junior high.

I was on the wrestling team with him for a couple of years and quickly figured out at a very young age that there are certain people you never eff with.

IF they can get 2 million dollars to get their a$$ kicked then more power to them.

Heck I would take 2 million dollars to take a beating from Canelo Alvarez for 10 rounds.
