Looks like GSC football is going the way of the GNAC - maybe we could have a GSC/GNAC mini-conference?

Wonder who will save the remaining GSC football programs and if Valdosta has been bouncing around a D1 move too.

I suppose that could be the case with the mini conference but that travel would be insane and there's no guarantee of any automatic bids to the playoffs.

The remaining 3 GSC schools are in a much better spot to find non conference games with the CC, SAC, and SIAC conferences all nearby.

With West Florida gone and Valdosta/Delta State not at the level they once were, Other schools arent going to be "fearful" of scheduling them.

I am guessing Central Washington, New Haven, Presbyterian, and Valdosta do not have the resources either but are panicked, "forced", delusional, etc. to making/considering the move.

Would be nice to see East Texas A&M join the UAC and get out of that crap hole called the Southland which is a perfect fit for Houston Christian and UIW.

East Texas A&M is a crap hole. They finish in the bottom half of the southland in literally every sport. If they get handled in the southland they will be Sul Ross State in the UAC.

I am guessing Central Washington, New Haven, Presbyterian, and Valdosta do not have the resources either but are panicked, "forced", delusional, etc. to making/considering the move.

CWU has positioned itself to have the facilities and growing funding to be a consistent to dominant D2 program. Football, men and women's bball have seen some great success over the past 10 years. The only place for us to go is Big Sky and we would replace Northern Colorado as the doormat of the conference. We would need to triple our budget and we just don't have the proximity to big cites (Seattle is 90 minutes with a mountain pass, Spokane is 150 minutes) or huge biz sponsors/donors to compete. Of course, besides Western Oregon (great opponent, not nearly as well funded and well positioned as CWU), we're the only football playing D2 in 10 western states. So this has been our reality for the past 10+ years. I'd also like to thank Humboldt, Azusa, Western Washington for killing their programs, Simon Fraser as well. Also like to thank Dixie State for leaving us too and all the California D2 programs that killed off their teams in the 80s and 90s.

Aside from one football NC, ETA&M wasn't ever competitive in the LSC in any sports. They should have been, because their enrollment translated into student revenue that would have put them at the upper end of D2 budgets. Now it's the opposite: Their enrollment puts them at the bottom of football-playing D1 schools, and they won't ever have the money to be even remotely competitive. That is, until/unless their enrollment increases by 3-4K undergrad for more student money. At least then, they can win some games.

My last real timecard I filled out for CWU was when I worked in the humanities dept computer lab in December of 1999. Don't worry about your taxes paying for my screen time while on the company clock. Everything else since then has been private enterprise, sir. I'm not going to say I'm not lazy, but at least your taxes aren't paying for my laziness!
