Am I missing something obvious? If this is the co-offensive player of the year, who is the other "co-" in that equation?

My guess....there is none. They just forgot to remove the "co-" when updating the template from last year's release (Hein and Gibson were preseason co-POY last year).

            Good catch y'all.

I was confused as well when I copied and pasted from the release but I figured, that's what it says, I'll go with it.

Looks like a conference goof like Stanger said. I'll edit it.

I think the conference should run all their press releases by our posters before release, those are some blatant typos....

                That I also missed :bulgy-eyes:

How could Kirby Hora not be the pre-season defensive poy? AU senior linebacker from SF Roosevelt led the league in tackles at 129 and was 5th in the nation.

Not to take anything away from the Mankato kid but you would think at a minimum he would have been Co-Defensive player.

Spot on correct. Not sure how he could not rank as co-player of year. Lot of good players for just a few positions in the pre season honors I guess.

Although I understand what you're getting at, remember it's a preseason award. Which means about as much as a preseason poll.

Also means it goes by votes. Simply put, Dodge got more votes. That's all there is to it.

Correct. And coaches, etc are more apt to vote for a very good player on a very good defense rather than a very good tackler on a mediocre defense. And that is not trying to take anything away from the Augie player. But making a ton of tackles also means your defense was on the field way too much.

Weird cannot find Dodge in any defensive statistics where Zach Dodge is on the leaders list. Lists don't really mean everything. https://nsic_ftp.sidearmsports.com/c...s.htm#conf.wi2
