People complain that the NSIC has identical scheduling, but it isn't.

Each season you play all the teams in your division. That makes seven games. Then you play half of the teams in the other division. That makes four more. So there are some teams that you only play every other year.

Wish the final week of the season was a match up cross conference for a true championship.

S#2 vs N#2
And so on...I know we probably dont want that for playoffs but I think it'd be sweet. Have that game plus 2 other cross conference games and 1 open week.

Probably opening old wounds or stuff that's already been covered but oh well

Are you talking about an extra week of games? Because I dont believe we can have more than 11. Also, of not speaking of that, how are you supposed to schedule that in advance?

According to the NSIC website UIU is last place in the division. Something about adjusted win percentage....did something happen that I'm not aware of? Is there a self imposed loss?

Not an extra week. The last week of the season is reserved for the final cross conference/conference championship week. So as the standings sit now its be UMD vs Mankato, BSU vs USF, Winona vs MSUM and so on. You wouldn't be able to schedule it in advance and wouldn't know for sure who you're playing until after week 10. Just think it'd be cool to have a true champion each year instead of what could happen this year where UMD and Mankato dont play but are both likely to be undefeated.

Well, UIU's two wins were against Winona and Minot. So it would have to be against one or the other.

The problem is, when they take away a win, they don't take away a loss for the offended team.

Yeah that would probably never happen, due to playoff ramifications.

If they did anything, it'd have to be the league doing it's best to project the best matchups within the confines of the current schedule rotation and schedule it accordingly. So for the most part, it'd probably be Duluth on a yearly basis and whoever their best South opponent that year is projected to be if you were projecting a true championship.

Just as an example, using this year's rotation....
WSU vs. UMD
MSU vs. BSU
USF vs. SCSU
AU vs. NSU
SMSU vs. MSUM
UIU vs. UMC
WSC vs. Minot
CSP vs. U-Mary

I'd add that it'd be cool to make it into a all-day/two-day thing at US Bank Stadium, but I'm sure no one would want to lose a home game (revenue). But that would also give everyone an even 5 home games, along with 5 true road games and 1 neutral site game. Could even tweak the schedule so that it's the last week of the schedule, even if the rest of the cross-division games aren't late in the year.
