Re: Coaching Movement - Off season..

Minnesota-Duluth (D-II): Per source, UW-Stout (D-III) offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Chase Vogler has left to join his alma mater Minnesota-Duluth in the same capacity.

    Name sounds familiar.

This seemed like a no-brainer, given Chase was the star QB previous to Drew Bauer.

Hope to hear if officially soon, then I will be one happy guy, He has done very good things at Stout, great recruiter and of course his playing experience will benefit any QB and offense.

Chase Vogler (former star QB for UMD) has been named the OC for the Bulldogs..officially.

This decision seemed like an easy fit that made a lot of sense. Question for the UMD folks....given how they moved away from being a run-dominant team..to a 50/50 or more passing squad....will the passing identity stay around or will they revert back to more of what Chase knew as the Bulldog offense..?

I have been wondering the same thing, Coach Pauley certainly liked to throw the ball more , surprisingly UMD did run the ball 58% of the time last season, UWStout (where Chase came from) ran the ball 56% of the time. Looking back on the 2010 championship stats the Bulldogs ran the ball 74% of the time, but we also had Odim at RB from 2008-10 I would have run the ball 95% of the time with him. Coach Weise was the OC then, so it will be interesting, games and opponents will dictate, UMD will have plenty of offensive weapons for both, if John Larson is 100% the read option plays are a big part of the the O.

No clue. 2018 was their first years on the job. Still tweeting BSU-related stuff this week.
