It was a great article Matt Zimmer wrote about his visit to Tuscaloosa. I found it touching about the years he spent covering USF and as much enjoyment that brought him, it like a gift that keeps on giving. Though, I'm a die hard Augustana fan, there is no football program in South Dakota that can match the unique history of USF.

The Coo has few "winnable" games left..........will be a push to get to a winning season.

Great program defining win for Coach Glo and these 5th and 6th year Seniors. Had three heart attacks today but loved every minute of that game

Otis Day's Vanderbilt squad beat Alabama today - who is obviously run by a USF guy, while USF upset the Mavs.

Sounds like quite a day lol.

USF made my day on Saturday. Was ecstatic for the team and especially Coach Glo. Big breakthrough win to build some confidence and help them realize what they're capable of. Excited to dissect with Coach on the upcoming Coo Cast.

But Vandy made history (against DeBoer of all people. Sorry not sorry Coach).

It's funny (and probably taboo to say) - but I'm not a Diego Pavia guy at all. So it was bittersweet to see Vandy beat DeBoer's Alabama to say the least lol.

USF brought a vocal contingent of fans to the game - there were a couple of times where the USF chants were quite audible, and the MSU side tried to respond. The game was a bit wonky, but it was a lot of fun to watch and it came down to the final play. If anyone was going to upset the Mavs' perfect season, I'm just glad it was USF and not Augie or something.

Glad to hear it. USF usually has travelled well to Kato and playing at Blakeslee is always fun. Getting a signature win against the second largest crowd in the stadium's history... Even better.

USF - Kato has always been an intense but respectful rivalry since our arrival to the conference. From the field to fan interactions. Even though the results obviously favor the Mavs historically.

It was tough to get a read on how many USF fans were there based on where I was seated, but I'd go as far to say that the USF representation pushed the game into the #2 spot for all-time attendance at the Blake.

We ran into a group of them downtown later that evening, so some of them hung around too which I thought was cool.

I want to preface this with I’m not taking a shot with this question, I just haven’t looked it up yet! Has USF won in Sioux Falls against the Mavs? I know they’ve won in Mankato a couple times now. And seem to always play well there.

Nope. Sioux Falls is 3-3 on the road and 0-6 at home versus Mankato.

I actually was wondering the exact same thing yesterday, so I had to look it up myself.

I found the same thing Cougar1997 posted.

I was in Mankato for two of the victories and one of the defeats. Didn't make it this last Saturday though.

For anyone who needs some Friday motivation to get through the work day... Check out this week's Coo Coach Cast. Links to video version and audio version.

Defenese is going to need to slow down Jaylin Richardson. Weather looks gorgeous for mid-October. See ya at the Bob tomorrow.

This one hurts. Coach Young and now SID. Two men who were synonymous with the Coo. SID possibly more so if one can believe it. A SFC/USF lifer starting as a student manager in 1969, to equipment mangager in '74 following graduation, to sports information director in '79, and then become USF's first full-time AD in 1991. Heck of a golf coach to boot.

More than that, SID was the kindest soul around and super funny, always wanting to know how others were rather than himself. My social media feed was wall to wall of former athletes, coaches, classmates, professors, as well as local media and others all sending their condoloences and sharing SID memories.

Posting the picture below if any opposing teams recognize him from games at Stewie or the Bob, where SID would often be cruising around on his golf cart.
