Been watching the live stream of the Dragons and Wayne State:
Both teams are playing hard and early on it definitely had the look of Defenses on both sides being ahead of the Offenses. Wayne State has simply made more big plays on both sides. I don't get to watch a lot of games so I've not seen either school play in a long time.
#4 QB for Wayne State is tough. He got demolished on a play. Next play, under pressure again, scrambles and drops a dime that puts the Wildcats in position to score. And #4 for the Wildcats runs hard, he's a QB that likes contact and is undeniably scrappy. He finishes runs going forward and even the hometown announces noticed that and commented on it.
I've heard a lot about Strand at QB for the Dragons and it's been fun to watch him heat up towards the tail end of the 1st half. The protection got better and when Strand is comfortable back there - look out! If I was a D coordinator I would tell my guys to tee off, because Strand really seems uninterested in running and has no interest in contact. #1 Dragon Running back is only a redshirt rb and he's got a little jahoogy and will make you miss and he caught a TD, so nice player that has a lot of time to get even better.
Should be fun to see if the Dragons can dig out of the hole they are in. Special teams kick return was a big play for WSU along with some bombs by #4 on WSU. WSU also had a sack strip that derailed a Dragon drive. Like I said, WSU just has more big plays and thats the difference.
