Rumor is he wanted a D1 offer but didn't get it. Seems like BSU was good to him and he still left. Does this kid know what type of school, culture, and rules he is stepping into? Strict rules regarding alcohol, church and bible class mandatory attendance... They do have a great football team.

one thing I have learned with transfers, at any level, is they don’t always make sense to fans

Well that is interesting. Harding is a great program but he is leaving a program that has had a bunch of success. Much harder for family to get to games etc . Hope he found what he was looking for. Roster management would be tough deal in today’s game.

First off, he's a redshirt junior with one year of eligibility remaining. Very likely he has his degree and was looking at grad school options.
Second, Harding just won a national championship a year ago. Guessing there's some appeal there.
Third, it sounds like Harding is losing high level defenders and has significant openings.
Fourth, I believe Harding runs a 3-4 while Bemidji runs a 4-3 (to the best of my knowledge). Hansen is an undersized 4-3 DE but can fit as a 3-4 EDGE fairly well.

Right now Fairmont has 11 kids in college football programs from DI (Hudson Artz at North Dakota State) to DIII. This coming year, Elijah Johnson at St. Thomas and Hank Artz at Bemidji State. Waseca will have Russell at South Dakota State this fall.
