Bute had to step into the HC role in the final weeks of the season last year - less than a year removed from finishing her own playing career with Augustana. BSU removed the interim tag on her back in March.

It was a pretty tragic situation last year for Bemidji - so I'm sure it meant a lot to them last night. UMD was also their longest active losing streak in-conference. I looked at the records and they had some decent years in the 90's but just couldn't get past the Bulldogs, except for '98.

Yes, losing their HC was a tragic situation. Very happy for all of them

As of today, partly sunny 65 and gusts up to 29mph.

Also of note, the game is at 6pm so, if a typical day that I remember, the wind will be winding down so im not sure ot will matter much.

          .
Temperature will plummet quickly as sundown approaches. Advantage Wolves

Overnight low of 50 degrees Saturday night - unseasonably warm temps. Perfect playing temps for the players on the field.

Not sure who would think the 'Cats have the Mavs number. Mankato is 15-2 all-time against Wayne State, 7-1 in Wayne. 'Cats last win was in 2022.

If I'm NSU I have all my home games at 6pm. Most teams will come in on Friday for that game and wont have an overnight on Saturday so the team is nomadic all day on Saturday waiting for the game. So on game day, that's slop from mass food service, 90 guys sharing a few bathrooms, and players laying around in a conference room or finding chairs some place. This is where the home team can really take advantage of the D2 life.

NSU social media team is light years ahead of anyone else in the conference. The exposure from that video that cost nothing is massive.

This is 100% true, but it also seems NSU draws a better crowd with the 6 pm starts than the 1 pm starts. Maybe that is just because the later starts have historically been early season games with nicer weather. Hopefully there is another big crowd tomorrow night.
