Tough picks this week. Another potential win for my Skyhawks but doubt it happens. Maybe we break double digit points :(

Black Hills State @ Southwest Baptist (-5.5) The Baptists only beat Manhandle St, even if thoroughly. BHSU lost closely to some big boys. I'm not sure if the logic is there, but I'll take BHSU.

South Dakota Mines @ Truman State (-9.5) Truman in week 1 was victorious in a slog fest... but Mines didn't really look impressive against an NAIA opponent. I think Truman wins, but Mines covers.

Augustana (-14.5) @ Chadron I see ugly things on the horizon for Chadron. Not just this week, but this season, it just starts this week. Augie covers a big spread on the road.

Mesa @ San Diego (PK) San Diego's roster doesn't look that impressive. Neither does Mesa's. I'll go with more scholarships and a home game, San Diego.

Texas Permian Basin @ Western Colorado (-13.5) Is it wrong to pick against a team that nearly "hung a hundred" last week? I think Western wins straight up, I'm hoping they also cover.

Colorado Mines @ Angelo State (-6.5) I was impressed by Mines up front on D, which is important knowing how much Angelo has liked to run the ball historically. Those DB's have me worried, but I think the offense will do enough to win this one straight up, albeit narrowly, CSM.

Pueblo @ Grand Valley (-22.5) Ouch... I was debating about a straight up win (not sure how high to be on Pueblo just yet). But, I feel much better knowing they just have to be within 3 TD's to cover. Thunderpups to cover.

Fort Lewis @ Arizona Christian (PK) I think in 12 years we'll look back and say, "FLC hasn't won in 15 years". AZ Christian.

Western New Mexico @ Highlands (-4.5) NMHU was close last week, owning the second half, missing their first PAT and getting behind the 8-ball at the end on a 2-point conversion to tie. WNM got by D3 power Sul Ross... Highlands covers.

Adams @ West Texas A&M (-14.5) Is this where ASC takes a step forward? Is this where WTAM folds up and calls it a season? I just don't know yet. Adams had a lot of moral victories last year, that were actual losses. I think this is another one of those, Adams covers, but loses.

Mesa has more schollies than the Terreros. I believe the whole pioneer league is non scholarship.

Well &$%!, you're right. They are FCS, which is where I made my error of assumption, but they are football scholarship free. I just have to go with Mesa sucks and loses to a scholarship free team.

I will say they’re scholarship free with FCS quality players. They regularly win the conference and go to the FCS playoffs. I hope Mesa starts looking better as the season goes on but it probably won’t be this week.

Texas Permian Basin @ Western Colorado (-13.5) - Heavy spread but the Falcons may have trouble at altitude and scoring touchdowns on the Mountaineer defense. 24-10
Colorado Mines @ Angelo State (-6.5)- Should be another entertaining game and important regional seeding matchup.
Pueblo @ Grand Valley (-22.5)- Thinking Pueblo keeps it close into the 2nd half but falls by 10.
Fort Lewis @ Arizona Christian (PK) - Maybe the RMAC will look to ACU if football is not in the future plans for FLC.
Western New Mexico @ Highlands (-4.5)- Going with the purple/silver combo over purple/gold.
Adams @ West Texas A&M (-14.5)- This could be a game that we look back on and say ASU took a big step. I think they keep it within 10, but lose late.
