Mules win game one 6-4 handing Max Steffens (9-1) his first loss of the season. Kelsch (7-3) gets the win, Sprinkle gets his 9th save. 3 more hits for Janvrin, he now has a CentralMO record of 106 this season. The Mules got the 6th run on a steal of home in the top of the 7th.

Mules to good of team to commit errors, balks and allow a triple steal on. The Vikings should play better tomorrow. Two good teams, nice crowd of Mule fans.

What's with the three baulks called in the first inning (2 on Augie and 1 on UCM)? I'm sure both pitchers were pusseled.

The Augie broadcaster is really good, but disappointed in the camera work.....there isn't any......just one fixed camera behind home plate and that's it. Anything hit out of the infield is a mystery. At UCM they have a fixed camera in centerfield, one in each dugout, and operated cameras behind home plate and two down each baseline/foul line...plus instant replay and lots of graphics. In all fairness, UCM has a degree program in broadcasting, so it's no wonder they're able to provide great coverage. If UCM could just solve the recent "floating chicken feathers" issue affecting the centerfield camera....lol.

Having fun here in Sioux Falls......nice city and friendly people. The weather is more than perfect and we brought our clubs and may hang around Sunday and play golf. Tailgated yesterday next to some Augie fans from NW Iowa....Lake Oka....something or other. Anyway, the Mules won and they lost the bet and have to supply the suds today.

Having fun here in Sioux Falls......nice city and friendly people. The weather is more than perfect and we brought our clubs and may hang around Sunday and play golf. Tailgated yesterday next to some Augie fans from NW Iowa....Lake Oka....something or other. Anyway, the Mules won and they lost the bet and have to supply the suds today.

Tough watching the Vikes either roll through opponents or come up with big plays in the clutch to pull out wins the last few weeks and then just not seem to have the steam to pull it off again last night. You get used to winning and the loss seems to hit you even harder.

Not knowing much about baseball when it gets to the finer points of the game, I have no idea whether the Vikes were off a little bit or if UCM is just so good that they made the Vikings seem off. Probably more the latter than the former, but I'm hoping Augie wakes up a little bit in today's game(s). Or it's possible these are just both National Championship-caliber teams and one has to knock out the other before the final rounds due to the setup of the tournament.

Or UCM is just better. I suppose we'll find out in a couple of hours.

Embarrassing for Augustana to host the regional and provide a sub-par telecast. The NCAA needs to consider everything when awarding a regional site.
