Notes:

* IUP has three tough games remaining. Gannon and UPJ visit the KCAC. Tomorrow's trip to a fired up Mon Valley will not be an easy one.

* UPJ has two tough road trips remaining to Mercyhurst and IUP. Tomorrow's visit to Morrow could be tricky. SRU played them real tough the first time.

* Mercyhurst has a tough final run. This week the Lakers travel across town to Gannon, followed by a weekend visit from UPJ. Cal visits in two weeks.

* California entertains IUP tomorrow and then should have three straight relatively easy wins. Tough ending, however, with a trip to Mercyhurst and a Gannon visit.

* The Rock hasn't clinched a conference tournament birth yet, but likely only needs to win one more game to officially do so. SRU is in a collapse, but should beat either SH or ED.

* Seton Hill has some nice freshmen players. The biggest challenge may be keeping them in Greensburg this off-season.

* Clarion better win at home tomorrow against Edinboro. After that ... UPJ, Gannon, Cal and IUP. Brutal ending.

* Edinboro's season can't end fast enough. The even worse news is Anthony Coleman and Trey Staunch are done after these last 6 games.

Seton hill announcers said they cant wait for 4 quarters in MBB.. ugh! I think 4Q has killed any kind of flow in WBB and would do same to MBB. Anyone else thoughts?

I am still not used to quarters in WBB. Good part is that there is one fewer media time out per half and that not shooting free throws till 5 in a quarter reduces the number of foul shots.

Quarters will never happen in MBB until they can figure out a way to do it and have four media time outs per half.

Slippery Rock at IUP - The last time Slippery Rock left Indiana with a win was during the 1992-93 season -- well before any of these current players were alive. All told, IUP has won 30 straight home games against the Rock. But, they haven't all been easy. Recently, in fact, with the exception of last season, most have been far from easy. Tomorrow will likely be another grind. For starters -- and perhaps most importantly -- the health of Chucky Humphries' left hand is still a question mark. If he's unable to go, Joe Lombardi's team is going to have an array of issues to deal with under the basket -- and on the bench. Slippery Rock has had its moments this year -- good and bad. However, that's irrelevant tomorrow night. This is the game they get 'up' for, and they'll be ready to roll. Can the streak hit 31? That's the question -- and one that could very well hinge on Humphries' availability. Earlier this year, IUP escaped Morrow Field House with a slim, 78-74, victory. The Crimson Hawks were destroyed on the glass by a whopping 46-27 margin but did just enough to win. SRU shot a terrible 3-23 from outside to offset the rebounding. No line on this one. Too many unknowns. Pick 'Em. (If Chucky plays, IUP -7)

Millersville at East Stroudsburg - The winner of this game will move in to second place in the East. West Chester is idle. When these two last met on Jan. 6, the Mauraders claimed a dramatic, 82-79, victory. This one should be much the same. The Warriors have won three straight. Millersville has won 4 of its past 5 outings. The home team gets the edge. ESU wins a tight game. Warriors -3

Shippensburg at Manfield - The Raiders couldn't miss a shot the other night. Mansfield better hope Ship shows up tomorrow and misses a whole lot. If not, this will be ugly. Shippensburg was pretty fired up for the West Chester game. This one will have more of lull vibe to it. The Raiders may look hungover at times tomorrow but it won't matter. Ship -17

Kutztown at Lock Haven - After Wednesday night's loss at Mansfield ... the Bald Eagles are officially playing with fire -- and walking the PSAC Tournament's plank. Kutztown has quietly worked its way right in to the heart of the East mess. Lock Haven has been far too inconsistent. Kutztown seems to be hitting its stride. Golden Bears leave town with a convincing win. Kutztown -11

Clarion at Mercyhurst - The Golden Eagles are going to get somebody. They've been so close in recent weeks against IUP, Cal and Slippery Rock. They show up and play hard. The Lakers came out flat in Greensburg. Gary Manchel looked like he was ready to punch out windows by halftime. Then they clobbered the host Griffins for the next 20 minutes. Clarion is scrappy enough to hang around in this visit to Erie for probably 25-28 minutes. The Lakers will lay it on in that last quarter of the game. Mercyhurst -14

Gannon at Seton Hill - The Knights get one more tune-up before the brutal stretch run. A Mercyhurst visit and a trip to the KCAC await next week. This battle of the Catholic schools won't be close. GU -18

Bloomsburg at Shepherd - As the standings show right now, both are headed home at the conclusion of the regular season. The winner of this game still has a hope. The loser has major problems. This isn't a playoff game or anything -- but it might as well be. Rams -4

Edinboro at Pitt-Johnstown - UPJ is coming off an emotional, drama-filled Wednesday night win. That could help Edinboro -- for a bit anyway. Oddly, these two played a nail-biter in McComb a few weeks ago -- one that the Scots could have won. The Mountain Cats have a history of laying eggs in games just like this one. It's doubtful to happen tomorrow ... but it has in the past. UPJ -12
