No CIAA Cinderella on the ladies' side. Virginia Union wins a laugher.

With IUP going down tonight that is 5 of the ranked 10 losing this week on the ladies' side.

What a week for Seton Hill ... took down Cal and IUP.

The third regional rankings will be based off of records today. Here's the guess:

          1. IUP
          2. West Liberty
          3. Virginia State
          4. Fairmont State
          5. East Stroudsburg
          6. Mercyhurst
          7. Shippensburg
          8. Notre Dame
          -------------------------------------------------------
          9. West Chester
          10. Charleston or Concord

West Chester two weeks ago was a lock in no worse than say the 3 or 4 seed. Amazing how quick that changes.

It can change back real quick, too. They have to at least make the finals this week which is certainly possible.

I'm just a score reader for the most part on the women's side so perhaps I'm missing something.
Two things happened to VULCANS WBB in the '18-19 season that helps to explain. MIA CUSHON didn't return for her senior year after being the second scoring option after SHATARA PARSONS last season. Her 14.5 ppg and .481
shooting % were sorely missed. Have not found out why or where she went.
Having worked for 4 years with MIKI GLENN, JS was hoping either SPORIO or JASPER could come close to that level. They are nice players but come up short in several critical ways. Neither can take the ball to the hoop to any degree. These two plus VALLECORSA, ALLEN and WOODYARD, playing at PG combined for 126 FTM in 174 GTA. MG averaged 181-208 most of which came when going to the hoop and frequently resulted in an "and one" 3 pt play. So much positive comes from driving and yet this team aside from BARRETT and FLOOD-FRANCIS has basically given up trying.
Though they could play IUP at least once more, it is also possible they could go out in their first game both at PSAC and the AR. Time will tell.

Re: 2019 Atlantic Regional Rankings Thread (MBB & WBB)

Is it fair to assume that after VUU, the champions of the other two leagues will be seeded 2 and 3 in the WBB Regional ? That should be GSU from the MEC and either CAL or IUP from PSAC. If either CAL or IUP loses their first game, they could slide down to the 6-8 area or conceivably drop out depending on who steps up in the tourneys this week.
Barco-Stevens Hall on the VUU campus seats 2,000 and will hopefully be crowded next week.

So hold up. Are we looking at two teams getting in from the CIAA on the WBB side? Is Bowie still in?

Should be. Half the Top 10 lost last week so they can't all fall out.

                      Edinboro now is serious trouble.
