How are the Augie faithful feeling about the upcoming remodel of the Elmen Center? It sounds like this is the end of the Pentagon run.

The rendering looks kinda cool - though I wish you guys had the space for a center hung videoboard. Totally understand why it's going on the back wall.

Looooong overdue. I’ve been a fan of the Pentagon, but that was only because the Elmen was so bad. If the administration is willing to put the money into making it a top-of-the-line experience on all levels (players, fans, boosters, etc.), then I think it makes sense to move it back.

Hopefully they follow all the way through on this effort and don’t go the route they went with the supposed-to-be-indoor track and leave it half-unfinished. 🤣

Coach Schilling said on ESPN radio today that there are 12 returning players for next year so I'm guessing that means one more player is leaving.

Malyk Rebetez is in the portal now too so hopefully that's all from Augie.

Kelton Coleman is in the transfer portal. He was a sparkplug off the bench but I felt he struggled a little towards the end of the year.

It was thoroughly enjoyable to watch Akoi Akoi all these seasons. He improved noticeably each season, never took a night off, and got his 1000 points. He had three game winning plays this season: the shot vs BHSU as well as the defensive stops to seal the games vs SMSU and SCSU.

As many games as the Dragons have lost and won at the Pentagon it should feel like an extended home away from home.

Hard to argue with you there. But only a few guys that have played in those prior games at the Pentagon.

Beating Duluth is one thing, beating Moorhead in the midst of this 8-game heater is another. I would be stunned if they win on Sunday.

UMD had won 7 of 8 before Wednesday night, the loss was by one to Moorhead.

I get that it's in Sioux Falls, but as far as the venue itself, Augie only played 4 games at the Pentagon this year. Most of them (9) were at the Elmen.

Moorhead definitely the favorite, but anything possible in a one game series. Augie playing at home. Should be a fun game.

Congrats to Texas Tom on winning his 500th game last night, that's a ridiculous accomplishment.

Congrats to Coach Billeter. Saw on social media that some of his former Augie players went down to Emporia to see him get win #500. Cool thing for them to do.

As far as the current Vikings coaches and players go, that was a fun win over Duluth. It’s never a bad day to beat that crew.

Forgive me for getting out of character and being a little more optimistic than usual, but other than the first matchup with Winona, there’s really no team left in this tournament that has straight up handled the Vikings this season. Not saying we’re likely to win the whole thing, but it’s not exactly 100% hopeless either. Would love to see Coach Schilling pull off a miracle like winning the conference tourney in year 1.

Augieholic and Mark Emmert’s Burner probably have 48 very insightful and sound reasons why Augie is a long shot, but that’s why it’s nice to only sort of understand basketball—I can just keep my hopes up.

Should be fun to see if the Vikes can put it together for a few more games.
