Very good first game in KC. #3 Fort Hays women 57, #6 Emporia State women 54. Close game throughout. This is the earliest I remember Emporia's season ending in several years.

Emporia was the 5 time defending tournament champion. This was only their 3rd quarterfinal loss in the history of the MIAA tournament (20 or 21 wins).

What an accomplishment! I knew it seemed like they win the tourney every year, just like the NW men seem to win the regular season every year. Guess every streak must come to an end!

Pitt eliminates another former tournament champion, Washburn. The only teams left who have previously won the tournament are CentralMO (7 times) and Western (3 times). Western last won in 2002 and CentralMO last won in 1990.

I knew it had been a while, but didn't realize it had been that long. Neither has won it since the move to KC.

UCM women's #1 regional seed is in real jeopardy after losing to #9 Lindenwood 75-66. Opens the door for Southwestern Oklahoma and Augustana.

Heard today that regardless of any outcome in the MIAA tourney, NW is virtually certain to host. Time will tell.

I am quite positive whatever bid was sent in is it. Also, I believe a school can host men's and women's but not totally sure. I thought last I looked the dates set up to allow so in that circumstance.
