Trevor Hudgins is preparing to play in the 68th Annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in Portsmouth, VA. It will be played over four days from April 13-16, and represented by 64 of the top seniors in the NCAA and attended by scouts and coaches from all 30 NBA teams. Trevor will be the first DII player invited since 2012. Players will be assigned to one of 8 teams.

Tickets available to the public. Wonder if Coach Mac will be attendance. I'm sure Diego would love to be there.

Good question ... appears it was Braydon Hobbs, Bellarmine, 6'5" Guard. Scroll down the list of the 2012 players who participated. Anyone remember him?

Bellarmine was a Final Four team in 2012

Agree with this, I know Ben seems to find guys every year. But you don't replace Trevor Hudgins, the fact that he replaced Pitts with Hudgins is an incredible combination of recruiting vision and also luck. You take Hudgins off of NW this year and I'm not sure they finish 5th in the MIAA. Which is why if I were Ben I take a chance on a D1 job if you get the offer. You just can't expect to keep getting guys like Pitts or Hudgins. Those are once-in-a-generation players.

Could only find a junior year highlight film, but here you go...

Word on the street is that everyone is returning next year except Trevor!

A great article in the Des Moines Register on Northwest Missouri HC Ben McCollum.

Does anyone know if HC McCollum's practices are closed to the public? Of course, when I was gracing the intramural courts at NW about four decades ago (geesh), sitting on the sidelines for a handful of Bearcat practices wasn't an issue, but not sure if McCollum has a different philosophy these days. Would love to (quietly) soak it all in. Certainly a whole new era.

Excited to see this 2022-2023 Bearcat team in action this season. I think these guys are going to have a fun year. We got new faces!

A lot of new faces... that's a big roster only losing 1 and gaining 5.

Sixteen players on scholarship. HC McCollum could take some of those guys and put them on a JV team to assist with putting their playing time and some game day experience in the fast lane. Add some walk-ons to the bench. Not sure if NW has ever had a JV team. MIAA? Maybe Washburn and Missouri Southern?

Missouri Southern has had a JV team the last 4 or 5 years. Has games against JUCO's and prep schools.
