Gutsy game by the MOSO women tonight who were missing one starter and one key bench player. Hope both will be back Saturday for the showdown in Warrensburg. Congrats to Ronnie Ressel for or his 100th career win at MOSO on his birthday.! Cameron Call stepped into the starting lineup tonight and came up huge, hitting 6 three-pointers and scoring 20 points. Lacy Stokes had a great game with 19 points and hit 1000 career points faster than any lady in MOSO history. Congrats on a huge milestone! Our next four games are against teams that gave us all of our losses. Let's start the redemption tour off on the right foot Saturday. Go Lions!

Tough night for our men tonight, particularly in the second half. We fell behind Lincoln by 8 in the first half, but fought back to take a 2 point halftime lead. The first 9 minutes or so of the second half was back and forth until it was tied at 43. From there, Lincoln was just tougher than we were and put a 33-14 beat down on us the rest of the game. They dominated the boards again and just out-toughed us. Witt and Kone just physically manhandled us. Lincoln plays tough defense, hits the boards, and we just don't match up well against them. We just need to get both physically and mentally tougher. Hope that starts Saturday at UCM.

Noticed the score was pretty close for a while...who was out?

Kryslyn Jones, our 2-guard, was out with a knee issue. Not sure if she'll be back Saturday. Depends how it's feeling and responding these two days. Hailey Grant, our reserve forward, was out after being sick all week. She should be back tomorrow.

Thanks Mosofan1, hope she doesn't have a long term issue...there's been some of that going around with illness having people miss or trying to play thru it.

Sounds like both will be playing today with Kryslyn back in the starting lineup. Both ladies practiced yesterday. I personally think both would have played Thursday if they had played UCM then. I think he just took the opportunity to let them get some rest and get back to 100%. Huge game today!

Huge win by the Lady Lions today over UCM getting win #1 on their redemption tour! After a disasterous second quarter, the ladies came back strong in the second half. What a clutch 3-pointer by Kaitlynn Hunnicutt to turn a 2 point deficit into a one point lead. 2 clutch free throws by Laine Skiles and a nice block by Lacy Stokes to seal the win. Great team effort with several ladies stepping up to make big plays and just stuffing the Stat sheet. 18 points 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals for Lacy. Huge game by Madi with 14 points, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks, and many altered shots. Layne had 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks and did a good job covering Brooke Littrell. And huge plays and other contributions by the rest of the team. Just a great team win!!!

6 assists, 15 turnovers, 26% from three point range, and 56% from the FT line. Those numbers won't win you any games. This definitely ends any postseason hopes, barring us miraculously winning the MIAA tourney. Just a bad performance today to give us two losses in a row. Just continue to lack some toughness. Lacked physical toughness vs. Lincoln and mental toughness today. Need to fix some things so we can beat our former coach and rival in Pittsburg next Saturday.

THE LIONS WILL MAKE THE NCAA TOURNAMENT

if they can qualify for the MIAA tourney and upset everyone in KC

They seem to be settling in to the .500 team I was afraid they would be this year, after watching that opening weekend in KC.

I remember when we were picked 8th in the preseason poll that I thought that was a little low. I thought we might finish as high as 6th, which is where we are now. I hope we can hang onto 6th and not play until Friday in KC.

Another tough performance for our ladies vs. Pitt State today. We just don't seem to match up well with them and their physical play on the perimeter. Also tough when Pitt shoots 12 more free throws and hits 96 % of them. After getting down by 20, our ladies made a valiant effort but fell short. The two games next week are huge in regards to our regional chances. The top 6 teams in the MIAA are so tough and worthy of a regional berth, but no more than 4 will make it. These next two weeks plus the MIAA tourney will be very interesting for these 6 quality teams.

After falling behind 17-2, our men battled back and won in overtime. Very tough mental performance by our guys to recover from this horrible start and pull out this win. It's always good to beat the monkeys, especially in John Lance Arena and to prove rhat what they taught us in school is correct ... that Lions are the King of the Jungle!!! Go Lions!!!

After falling behind 18-4, our ladies battled back to make it a game vs Kearney but ultimately fell short. Lacy had a good look at the buzzer from about 10 ft to tie the game, but it wouldn't fall. A very tough loss that may come back to haunt us. Our ladies keep having scoring droughts like this that lasts from 5-10 minutes, and you're not going to win against a good team like that. Teams are learning how to slow Lacy down, so it's time for Ronnie and Lacy to make some adjustments to break her out again. This loss sets up what is likely a regional elimination game between MOSO and Fort Hays on Saturday, unless the loser wins the MIAA tourney. Go Lions!

Our men played a very good game vs Kearney last night shooting the lights out from 3 (going 17-28) and really sharing the ball (20 assists on 30 made FG). Winston Dessesow hit his first 6 3-point attempts and ended up with 27 points. He has really broken out the last several games and has become a real threat from 3-point land. Our guys also dominated the boards and played good defense. With this win, one more victory or one loss by Washburn and Rogrrs State will wrap up a top 6 finish and will mean we don't play till Friday in KC. Definitely have a tough one Saturday vs Fort Hays, who we are battling for 5th. Parker Long tweaked his earlier foot injury last night, so hope it is minor and that he will be back soon. It was unfortunate, because Parker had just played his best half of the year with 10 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds. Heal quickly Parker!!!
