      • Only thing good to ever come out of Kentucky are the Headhunters. I knew Dumas Walker himself

Great news... The inspectors (health department) have agreed not to shut down Tico's restaurant but he must pass the next inspection. Has not passed even one yet.

Honestly, there is only one poster saying that Truman doesn't belong and we all take Battler/Grady with a grain of salt. Truman has always been in the top half of the GLVC since joining. They are one of the classier schools in the league.

Tweeko has never been near Metcalfe county. Walker's was supposedly a burger dive there in one of the head hunters songs. I've never been to it, if it exists. I know the county well. JP Blevins played for Kentucky, and his uncle played at Western Kentucky. Both were from Metcalfe county.

Russell Vanzant was from Metcalfe county, and he played for Wesleyan in the 70's.

Slaw burger, fries and a bottle of ski, bring it on down to my baby and me. The high school team there needs lots of slaw burgers this season. They have yet to win a game.

I hear Tico is a former USI player named Ryan and Silky is a fired USI wannabe named Stan. It figures. KWC people are loyal, unlike USI.

It was the year that Drury won the national championship. At one point, 4 GLVC teams were ranked in the top 10 alone - not including Drury.

In that particular season, the GLVC had 7 teams that I would consider powerhouses - it was a bloodbath of a season. Drury 31-4, BU 24-8, USI 23-8, KWC 20-8, UIndy 20-9, UWP 20-9, Lewis 19-9. Notice that 6 of these seven teams were in the EAST division, while Drury was able to cruise through the weaker WEST division, which gave them the strong upper hand in hosting the regional. I'd say that any of those teams could have been national champs that year if they had the luxury of home court advantage for regionals.
I know you're not trying to talk down Drury, but for the record, Drury's schedule in '12-'13 was every bit as difficult as any GLVC East team. That's because while the East teams were playing patsies in the non-con, Drury was playing:

Arkansas Tech - '13 NCAA tournament team
Wayne State - '13 NCAA tournament team
                    St. Mary's - '13 NCAA tournament team
Western Washington - '13 NCAA tournament team and '12 defending national champions

Also, we finished the year by winning 22 straight games and won the conference tournament by sweeping the 3 best teams in the East: Indy, Bellarmine, and USI. Throw in the NCAA and we beat those 3 teams plus Findlay (22-7), Michigan Tech (20-8), Bellarmine (22-7) again, USC-Aiken (22-7), Western Washington (27-2) and Metro State (32-3). You couldn't put together a more difficult 9 game stretch if you tried. The only team in the entire country that year that had a legit shot to win the whole thing that we didn't play (and beat) was West Liberty. In my opinion they had a better team that year than the one that got to the national title game a year later. And the only reason we didn't play them too was because Metro beat them first.

Strength of schedule had nothing to do with it.

Don't think he was saying Drury was unworthy of the title but the West that year was objectively weaker than the East. Drury still deserved the #1 seed especially after winning the GLVC tourney but they may have had a couple more losses if they had to play in the East. Just a quirk in the schedule that year.

Understand that wasn't his point, but this:

"Notice that 6 of these seven teams were in the EAST division, while Drury was able to cruise through the weaker WEST division, which gave them the strong upper hand in hosting the regional. isn't exactly true. Because, like I said, Drury's schedule was every bit as difficult as any East team that year. Regional hosting is based on the entire schedule, not just the conference schedule. All the East teams might have had a few more losses on their schedule if they had played 4 NCAA tournament teams in the non-con instead of loading up on Philander Smith and Cincinnati Claremont. 4 NCAA tournament teams was 3 more than the '13 USI and Bellarmine non-con combined.

Don't disagree the West was significantly weaker than the East that year, just disagree that it had anything to do with who hosted the regional.

Kentucky State and Southern Wesleyan were busy those nights. So was Salem International. And Ohio Valley. And Oakland City (twice).

The red Panthers calling the purple Panthers and 8-time national champs afraid. Get to 8 national titles and stop playing Webster and Randall first.

Yep, that's exactly what I said.

Nice try. I don't want to insult the other decent KWC posters here, so I'll just stick with saying you're a genius.
