New coach should have known not to deal with Wod. Wod's toxicity expands like a runaway epidemic. Once he leaves then the rivalry will resume.

FWIW our new coach said explicitly that he was trying to get together with USI for a game but was having trouble reaching an agreement. How much could there possibly be to agree to? Come to our place one year, we'll come to yours the next. The schools are 30 minutes apart. You know USI would bring many fans to Owensboro for the game so how scary could it possibly be? Especially when we're in a total rebuild? Lol...Oh well.

I'm with you Alex, but they are students just like me and you were at one time. When you were in the USI band and I was doing USI radio we were just learning, same way for The Shield staffers. A better story would have been asking Watson if he is ready to retire and then ask the administration if this is it for him if they don't make the NCAA tournment.

Headcount is not important except for the PR perspective... What is important for the school is Full-Time Equivalent (FTE). USI generates revenues based upon credit hours generated not necessarily by the number of butts in the seats. One student taking a full load of 12+ credit hours in a semester is more important from a revenue perspective than three students only taking a one 3 hour course each!

Exactly right, don't bother to try and explain that to a sad sack complainer like Jason Johnson USI Class of 1999, he just needs to cry about something negative about USI cause he's serving french fries and burgers at Mcdonalds. Not only is he a coward who hid behind trees when we came to speak to him this summer, Johnson just looks for things to bash USI about. He is a liar too, ask Chad at the Courier Press, he has no intention of doing any investigative story on Watson even though Johnson said it in an earlier post. Get a life Johnson!
