Miami and Boca Raton in Nov or Dec, sounds like a great road trip to me! I've got plenty of frequent flyer miles I could use!!

my guess one of the big news is making move to d1 or another d2 conference after this year.

Still no insight on the big, big, big news. Bellarmine ranked #9 in NCAA II in basketball attendance last year - 1,721. Capacity of Knights Hall in the current configuration is 2196. Tops in GLVC. Disappointing that attendance has slid over past several years - big drop off since ticket prices essentially doubled in 2012. Despite playing one of the toughest schedules, 9 straight NCAA tournament appearances, final four and elite 8 appearances, we can't seem to fill the place.

UW Parkside averages 302 attendance per game??? Crazy! My grandson's 8th grade games in the postseason tournament got that many people.

BU is interested in Jaden Coleman, apparently an undersized (6'3") but athletic forward who is a rising senior at Jeffersonville (IN) High:

Does the fact that we have not heard about any transfer for the upcoming season mean that there will not be any? I suppose that they could still be working out eligibility issues, it seems like Kolo was not announced officially until the school year started. I noticed on Verbal Commits.com that there are still about 90 D1 transfers that still haven't announced for a new school. That included Jay Henderson, the UofL xfer. Considering classes have begun at some schools, it seems late to make these announcements.

BU classes start Thursday. Maybe then we will hear.

Will be interesting to see what, if anything, happens. Still wish we could get the "big, big, big" announcement sooner rather than later...

Willie Schurfranz and Rhett Troutman are now on scholarship (with a cameo by BU All-American Dr. Tom Schurfranz):

Interestingly (or not), I "Zapruder'ed" that WAVE clip, and, between 0:11 and 0:21, noticed someone who may be a new member of the squad -- between Schurfranz and someone who I think is Chitty, there's a guy sitting without a nameplate, photo, etc. on his locker. It's grainy, but I don't recognize the fellow. Doesn't look like that Jay Henderson chap. Good to see Sean McNeil there, though.

He is definitely not one of the guys who has been announced as being on the team. He also does not look like a freshman. If he is a new player, I don't understand why there would not have been an anouncement, unless he still needs to be cleared by the NCAA. You would think that Shurfranz and Troutman getting scholarships would reduce the likelihood that there is still an unnamed transfer. With the ability to split scholarships and combine them with other aid, it's pert near impossible to figure out the way the money is alloted. Schurfranz, for instance, may have already had a significant academic scholarship.

BTW he doesn't stand up in the video so its hard to judge his vitals. I am thinking he looks like a swing man 6'4"-6'7".

Slightly off topic, but have others seen that UW Parkside will be ineligible for Conference Championships in any sport this coming year due to numerous violations of player eligibility. I don't know the details of the infractions, but I'm sure you could get out on the internet and get the juicy details if they are known. I'm confident the sleuths on this message board can easily come up with the missing details.

GLVC men's basketball now has 15 instead of 16. I'm curious as to how the divisions will line up. Does anyone know? I saw the William Jewell 2017-2018 schedule online and it looks like they play 10 teams once and four teams twice (Rockhurst, Truman, Drury and UMSL). So does that tell me 3 divisions of 5 each? If so I guess that means Maryville, McKendree, M S&T, Quincy and UIS are the second "western" division and BU, USI, Indy, UWP and Lewis are the eastern five? If that's the set up, that means most of the historic "tough" teams will play each other twice in the east.

I just saw the McKendree schedule online and I think I got one thing wrong in the previous comment. UMSL is not in the Rockhurst -Drury etc. group, its UMS&T (makes sense) and UMSL is in the group with Maryville, McKendree, Quincy, UIS group whom all play each other twice.
