Did Creehan get fired or quit? Isn't Creehan the one the MEC doesn't like?

I am guessing he retired. I really don't know. He is a good football coach so maybe he was hired as an assistant somewhere. I have no clue to be honest. He did a tremendous job as football coach. We will leave it there. It was time for a new day.

I am excited. Carrie has experience and she has been loyal to AB for a long, long time. She has been the senior associate athletic director. She has been a member of the NCAA Management Council for the past five years. She CHAIRS the G-MAC Athletic Administration Council. She currently serves as the Senior Woman Administrator. She served for 11 years as the Women's Volleyball coach and had some incredible runs. She knows the school. She knows the people. She has a passion for the school as an alum. She is well-respected with many schools and many ADs and many coaches.

We not only hired a woman, but we hired a woman who is qualified, experienced, respected and a go-getter.

Here is WDTV's story on the hiring of Bodkins:

Here is WBOY's story on the hire:

She conducted a good interview. She has her work cut out for her, but she is ready.

Women's hoops get a 6'0" D-I transfer in Hannah Henderson from Grambling State. She played her sophomore year at Grambling after transferring from Garrett CC. She had little production at Grambling.

At Garrett CC, she averaged 21 points and 13 rebounds as a freshman earning her 1st-team All MD JUCO honors and 1st-team All-Region XX honors. She had little minutes at Grambling. She will have a lot here.

Tyler Whiteside out of Chase HS (NC) has signed with us. A guard who averaged 22 ppg and 6.5 rpg this past season.

Point guard signee Trumaine Strickland signed with AB. He is out of Tuscarora HS over here in Frederick, Maryland. He added 20 pounds of muscle mass between his junior and senior season. He is a two-time 1st-team all conference selection in the Frederick/Hagerstown area league.

Bruce Spruell will run the point this year. It appears he is hungry and ready to go after transferring in. I was told he finished the year with a 3.0 gpa and will be ready to go come October.

I will add that the influx now of true point guards will allow the squad to move sophomore Tyler Golphin, the team's second leading scorer, back to the wing which is his natural position.

Former Battler pitcher Randy Dobnak is now being brought up to the AAA farm team of the Minnesota Twins. Randy has a 1.69 ERA on the season. He is being brought up from the AA Pensacola team. He is moving fast.

Dobnak pitched 6 innings tonight: gave up 3 hits, 1 run, 1 BB and 5 K's. Another solid AAA outing.

Here is a list of men we have signed for basketball. Some of these kids will play JV. I don't know which ones will. Here is what we have signed:

Kobey Lam is a guard out of Father Henry Catholic Prep in Ontario, Canada. Good shooter and has some hops. He stands around 6'4". Verbal commits had him having an offer from High Point out of HS, but I am not sure the validity of that. He needs work as well.

                                Trumaine Strickland
is a point guard out of Tuscarora HS in Frederick, MD. Good player who will have to sit behind Bruce Spruell next season.

Colton Huestis is a 6'3" guard out of Ticonderoga HS in New York. He is a good shooter and 1000 point scorer. Competition did not look good.

                                Tyler Whiteside
was mentioned earlier out of Chase HS in North Carolina.

                                Akram Ben Salah
was mentioned earlier as a 6'8" prep player in South Carolina. Raw talent that can probably develop over the years at ABU. He needs work but has tools.
