Two NSIC schools possibly dropping football

There is a meeting at 3:00 this afternoon with SCSU administration where it is reported they will announce they are dropping football.

Minnesota-Crookston is also expected to make the same announcement today.

The NSIC changed its bylaws just last week that require member schools to sponsor football.

Well down to 14...getting better. Terrible news for the players.
Also, too bad we won't get a chance to continue our streak against SCSU, I believe they still have a hefty lead on us in the head to head historically

SCSU informed their players this morning that football is ceasing operations immediately.

One way to stop it would be to revoke their league membership, then they'd be scrambling or have to go D3. Too many non-football schools out there.

Wasn't St. Cloud in danger of dropping football a few years ago before some big donation saved it? Or was that some other St. Cloud sport?

Hearing word that St. Cloud State may announce, as early as this afternoon, they are dropping football.

Minnesota-Crookston may be not far behind.
