D3 MIAC goes the Big 10 route - cancels non-conference games in the fall. They got a head start on this last year when they cancelled St. Thomas.

EDIT: D3 UMAC (aka the "other" MN conference) also cancels non-conference games. Unlike the MIAC, they did not have a head start, and the University of Minnesota-Morris is safe... for now.

Due to COVID-19, we will be operating under a reduced capacity for the 2020 season. Any previously purchased single game tickets are no longer valid and will be refunded in full. We are working with our local government and public health officials to determine a capacity that is safe for our fans, staff and players and will go on sale with reduced-capacity tickets at that time.

Philadelphia Eagles will play with no fans in attendance...I really think there will be NO full season, but they'll try...

A post from Ohio-Chillicothe's softball Facebook page (July 11):

"Message from the University to our OHIO Chillicothe student athletes: You deserve to fulfill your educational goals in a setting that provides you with the safest experiences. We believe that all of the planned interventions for the fall semester will provide that. Three of our regional campuses provide students the opportunity to engage in competitive athletic experiences as an extracurricular activity. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were exploring the possibility of transitioning to club/intramural athletic opportunities and away from the current conference athletic teams due to increasing costs. The pandemic has accelerated these discussions and led us to reconsider moving forward with our current athletic programs.

Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to be able to implement the safeguards that are required for safe competitive sports on our regional campuses. Although we will not offer athletic programs this academic year, we understand that the opportunity to engage in healthy physical activity is extremely important to many of our students, and so we plan to resume athletic programming through club/intramural type opportunities once it is safe for us to do so."

I'm guessing the ORCC is going to suspend sports for the entire year. They don't have a website or centralized social media efforts, so I don't know for sure. I really hope the entire conference doesn't fold, they have existed since the 1970s.

If you can't tell, I like these tiny oddball conferences. I don't really want to see them fold.

The University of Wisconsin satellite campuses have suspended sports. I believe they are all non-football. If I am correct, they all compete in their own independent JUCO conference and aren't apart of the NJCAA - however they do regularly compete against NJCAA schools.
