9 of the top 21 are from SR3. The NCAA needs to rathole regions or at least put GLIAC & MIAA in different regions again.

You get to send your best team to the final four. Until there is a desire for the MIAA to play some out of conference games during the season like most all the other conferences its a guess to how good all your teams are. Would love to see a rematch between LR and NWMS in Hickory NC. Ferris travels to face good out of conference games. I know you guys use the excuse of the size of your conference but if each team was required to play one out of conference game it would make for some interesting matchups. GSC over the years has had one of the strongest conferences especially when North Alabama was a member. Has anyone besides NWMS or Pitt State won the MIAA in the last fifty years. Maybe Bearcats can get the old coach back I believe his name is Doral or something like that. Great run you guys had for several years and hopefully this year is not a trend in the wrong direction.

The rank difference between Tiffin and Slippery Rock continues to surprise me. They should both be around 16-20.

So 3 of the top 5 in the D2.com poll can't play in the semis. Not only is that wrong for those schools, but it damages the integrity of the PO system.

The NCAA is nothing but a business, they don't care about D2 and never will as there will never be a profit to be had. Integrity is the furthest thing driving their decisions regarding the playoff system. It is simply the way it is, has been, and will be.

                  Sort of.
Lincoln left the conf without a lot of notice, and teams could either play them as ooc, or find another game.

Pitt was the only team able to.find a game against someone besides Lincoln.

Next year, though, the miaa teams will all need to find one OoC game unless they add another football school to the conference and decide to go back to the silo by then.

It's tough because there are 2 kinds of integrity at stake here. Do you sacrifice financial integrity, championship integrity, or kind of compromise.

It was not tough for them. The cheapest option possible for D2 will always be the choice, they've made that clear. It is just something that D2 fans have to accept.

For that matter, all MIAA schools have listed they are looking for a game their bye week next year, except Pitt, I think. They may have already had one lined up, Maybe they turned USF into a home and home, just changed the week.

The real problem is that the NCAA is not a business, but they are absolutely driven by profit and loss. They are a non-profit, that are supposed to be providing a service. They don't provide the service equitably, judiciously, nor fairly. When half of their rules regarding compliance and eligibility are arbitrary at best, and the products they market and govern are distributed as poorly as they are, I imagine within the next few decades the NCAA will be non existent or legislated more heavy handedly.

Not really. The NCAA is made up of the schools. The schools are setting the rules. Too many schools are looking out for themselves (region) as opposed to all the member D2 schools. It's an easy excuse to say that the NCAA is all about money. For the lower divisions that's not totally the case. The member institutions are driving the rules.. not some power 5 conference. I point the finger at the schools themselves... NOT the NCAA. You don't think that money is and issue for FCS? or D3? So why does D2 do it so differently?

In 2019 the president of the NCAA made $2.9 million, with a base salary of $2.5 million lol. The NCAA is a business with over 4,000 employees including the mentioned president, CFO, SVP of Business Performance, and many other very well paid positions. It is a business that is concerned with profit margins just as any business is. A $6.2 billion dollar March Madness deal with CBS accounts for the majority of revenue some of which is then distributed to D1 insitutions with the scraps going to D2 and D3. You think the D2 schools wanted to change flight distace from 500 to 600 miles? It was a decision made by the NCAA so they did not have to cover that cost for D2 teams.

Regardless of business/non-profit semantics, decisions regarding D2 playoffs will be financial ones as opposed to the best playoff format possible. Something I assume nearly every D2 fan had just accepted by now.
