Cliches We Hate

Coaches and players use them all the time, but when fan's use them, they just sound so stupid! My favorites (meaning the ones I HATE):

Chip (Championship)
High football (or basketball) IQ
Natty (National title)
That's why they play the game
It is what it is
Dropping dimes

Walk-off (didn't someone actually run to a base?)
Game face (did they leave another one in their locker- and if so, why are they wearing the ugly one that they have on?)

Many are cringeworthy, but these two are just the worst (adding the variation of ‘chipper’). Middle aged men trying to sound cool, sounds exactly like middle aged men trying to sound cool… Thanks Tim Brewster 🙄

So us old guys can't use slang? I get it. :-) Most of those terms have been around for quite some time... just sayin' Still, there are some grinding cliches out there.

Cool slang is only cool until a 30+ uses it once...it becomes immediately sad at that point!!
