They beat Washburn last week that didn't have any, they beat Central Missouri the week before...Central Missouri was coming off a win of Kearney but Kearney didn't have any territory during that matchup, so UCM wouldn't have had any territory to give Fort Hays.

Based on the last few messages it looks like I need to post a refresher on how this map works.
CFB Imperialism was created by Nathan Bingham in 2017 and originally posted on /r/CFB. I've done the D2 edition since 2019. The rules are simple:- Each county is initially owned by the nearest team. (Size and location of fanbase do not matter.)
- When a team loses [to a D2 opponent], the land that they possessed before the game is passed on to the team that beats them. For example, the land originally owned by Northern Michigan passed first to Minnesota–Duluth, from Minnesota–Duluth to MSU Moorhead, from MSU Moorhead to McKendree, from McKendree to Quincy, and then from Quincy to Indianapolis who currently owns it.
