1/2 of the latest D2 top 10 are in SR4 with 3 on the same side of the bracket and 2 of them playing each other in the 1st round. Regionality is a joke only meant to save the ncaa money. Can you imagine the uproar in D1 if they tried this with FB or BB playoffs?

the ncaa reseeds the final 4 in FB & final 8 on BB to try to get the best teams left in the final but don’t feel the need to do the same in the other rounds.

If you look at the top 10 nationally in the three main selection metrics (winning percentage plus SOS, performance indicator, and KPI) you'd get the same 10 teams, in different orders, of which each region has either 2 or 3:

        W%+SOS:
        1. Albany State
        2. Ferris State
        3. Kutztown
        4. Harding
        5. Central Washington
        6. Johnson C. Smith
        7. Indianapolis
        8. Newberry
        9. Findlay
        10. West Florida
        PI:
        1. Albany State
        2. Ferris State
        3. Indianapolis
        4. Kutztown
        5. Johnson C. Smith
        6. Harding
        7. Central Washington
        8. Newberry
        9. West Florida
        10. Findlay
        KPI:
        1. Albany State
        2. Kutztown
        3. Harding
        4. Ferris State
        5. Findlay
        6. West Florida
        7. Indianapolis
        8. Johnson C. Smith
        9. Central Washington
        10. Newberry

I understand that. That just shows that the metrics are likely not giving credit to the best teams. I still wish the selections were determined by using the metrics as one sees fit, but allow human judgement to take over. It's just too hard to get exact numbers/rankings to spit out teams. Not only that, how much should a particular metric be weighted. I suspect each member has their choice, and member go towards past practices.. right or wrong. And regions.... ughhhh.

Regions is all about money. Plain and simple.
