Also learned how to file Freedom of Information Act requests for game contracts recently, so no one* is safe >:)

*Unless you're a private university, are in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, or Tennessee, or your name is Lincoln University of Pennsylvania

        • I decided not to explicitly list every teams open date because I think especially this early on, it impedes readability of the post. Every conference has their expected number of non-conference games beneath their name, so if a team under a conference doesn't have that many, its safe to assume they have some open dates.
AIC is scheduled to play Monroe University in Week 0 in Springfield, Mass. It's possible that Monroe will compete as an independent this season if they are in fact moving up to D2 and may eventually play a full NE-10 schedule in 2027 or 2028.

Saw that AIC posted it on their socials, but I was waiting for it to go up on their website to see whether Monroe was listed as a conference opponent or not. Looks like they put it there today though, and your theory seems to be correct

I've had it listed in the main post for a couple weeks, but I was waiting on official confirmation before I put it in an update post. I'll put it in the next one

It's a little difficult to say, as there aren't nearly as many D2-D3 games as there are FBS-FCS, or even FCS-D2, so there's not as much data to go off of. It also depends a lot on who the opponents are; for instance, D2 teams went 1-3 against D3 teams this past season, but the 3 teams that lost had a combined record of 3-29 (and one of those wins was 2 of them playing against each other), so it's not exactly representative of the talent level in D2 as a whole.

I think overall D3 stacks up pretty well against D2, but I would give a slight edge to D2. I've only been following D2 football for a couple of years though, so I might not be the best person to ask on here

Also the D3 WIAC conference 1) plays the most games against D2 competition and 2) Is an atypical D3 conference, being comprised of public schools with enrollments that rival those in many D2 conferences
