Re: IUP 2018
They have to be fully funded scholarship wise too.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View PostThat program is perfectly constructed. Plus Pensacola is perfectly situated between south Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and the vast number of football-playing community colleges.

Re: IUP 2018
I was at practice today. A couple notes:- Duane Brown is back on offense at RB.
- Juco OL Justus Martinez quit earlier this week.
- Redshirt freshman John Robinson has been moved from DL to OL.
- OL starters (L to R): Peterson, McAllister, Arnold, Esposito/Dauberman, Roman.
- DL starters: Easterling and Tillman (ends) and Mitchell and Scott (interior).
- Tortorella said he's been impressed with two transfer WRs: Dwine Walls (Fresno City JC) and Ricky Rogers (WVU).
- He's also happy with the quick development of the two freshmen QBs (Wilkerson and Davis).
- Scrimmages are scheduled for Aug. 15 (1:30 p.m.) and Aug. 22 (7 p.m.)

I personally like this. Is it official that Malik Anderson is gone for the year or was that just rumor? The coaches must feel they need more pop in the RB stable.Originally posted by Matt Burglund View PostI was at practice today. A couple notes:- Duane Brown is back on offense at RB.

Re: IUP 2018
Possible. Also possible he wasn't as good as he was touted to be. If you quit two weeks into camp and were a highly regarded JUCO signing, it means one of a couple of things...Originally posted by Bart View PostJustus Martinez is from Coatesville and offered by several PSAC schools. Bet he ends up at West Chester.
1) The coaches treated you like everybody else and didn't roll out a red carpet for you.
2) You couldn't beat out the incumbents and returners on the roster.
3) You might not like where you're at.
Those are all possibilities.
I wouldn't be so quick to say IUP just goes and lets him walk away to whatever school he wants by giving him a full release. He was very interested in Slippery Rock. He was very interested in West Chester too. Those are teams you'll be competing with for playoff spots. I block him from other PSAC schools. If you have the ability to do that, you do it. He was supposed to be a good player for you. Don't allow him to go and be a good player for somebody else immediately.

Re: IUP 2018
This could also mean somebody is hurt or not performing. Could mean somebody else changed positions. Brown is a good back, but he isn't better than Evans or Bullock. I said a long time ago that I didn't think Chris Temple was going to have much of an impact this year, and people didn't like that. This could be potential writing on the wall to support that. If switching Brown back to offense means Justice Evans plays the majority of his snaps at WR, I disagree with that decision.Originally posted by IUP CRIMSON HAWKS View PostI personally like this. It doesn't. It means they didn't need Brown at safety.Originally posted by IUP24 View PostIf switching Brown back to offense means Justice Evans plays the majority of his snaps at WR, I disagree with that decision.IUPfootball.substack.com

Re: IUP 2018
I interpret that differently. My reading of it says that IUP is allowing any school to contact him, but if he chooses to attend a program and play football, that "institution will need to request a release of the one-year residency requirement so the student athlete may participate immediately if granted."Originally posted by Bart View PostIt appears they gave him his release from my reading of the letter.

That means, let's say SRU is already talking to this guy... He can choose to go up north and play, but SRU will have to request IUP to fully release him and allow him to play immediately. And I doubt they would do that.
Jus sayin..
