Dante would get all the carries. 40 touches a game minimum.

I thought you can't red-shirt anyone after their freshman season unless its a season-ending injury within the 1st 3 games of that season?

Yes, I know Anderson is still listed on the roster. But my understanding is that Anderson is academically ineligible for this season. If he comes back I believe he will have some eligibility left, maybe 1 year. However, I don't believe that is the case (eligibility-wise) with Swahneek Brown, Hughes, or Makle.

How do you stay eligible for years and then become ineligible ... knuckleheads.

As for the redshirt ... in basketball anyway you can use it at any time. You get 5 years to play four seasons. IUP has routinely .... EXTENSIVELY ... used redshirts on incoming junior transfers.

You stay around a GPA of 2.00 for years, and than you have a semester with a GPA of 1.5, which pulls down you total GPA. If a GPA is under 2.00 you are ineligible to participate in sports and are under academic probation.

The scary thing is it takes no effort at all to maintain a 2.0.

                    1) The coaches treated you like everybody else and didn't roll out a red carpet for you.
                    2) You couldn't beat out the incumbents and returners on the roster.
                    3) You might not like where you're at.

                    Those are all possibilities.

I wouldn't be so quick to say IUP just goes and lets him walk away to whatever school he wants by giving him a full release. He was very interested in Slippery Rock. He was very interested in West Chester too. Those are teams you'll be competing with for playoff spots. I block him from other PSAC schools. If you have the ability to do that, you do it. He was supposed to be a good player for you. Don't allow him to go and be a good player for somebody else immediately.
WHO CARES where he goes, he came in 30 pounds over weight and couldn't sniff a back-up role. Can't measure heart and work ethic on tape....just sayin.

I said a long time ago that I didn't think Chris Temple was going to have much of an impact this year, and people didn't like that. This could be potential writing on the wall to support that. If switching Brown back to offense means Justice Evans plays the majority of his snaps at WR, I disagree with that decision.
NEVER enough good running backs . Evans is not a receiver like posted many times before, he is one of the best backs in the Region period. Like Matt said Brown not needed on defense , a weapon on offense change of pace back and receiver out of backfield which should tell u they are pleased with 2 Jones that transferred into the secondary ..just sayin

Hughes, Brown, Makle history. If u are still on roster u are still on team and expected to make an academic comeback and practice with team at a later date.

                              - You can redshirt any year once and not lose a year of eligibility.

                              - The 5 years to play 4 is a little different in DI vs DII ...... In DI, the 5 years starts when you first enroll as a full time student and from then on you have 5 consecutive years to complete 4 years of eligibility ..... In DII, you get 10 semesters to complete 4 years of eligibility but they don't have to be 10 consecutive semesters .... for example, Paul Failla went to Notre Dame, redshirted his freshman year then played 3 years at Notre Dame. He had one year of eligibility left as a redshirt senior in DI but decided to give up that year and went to play minor league baseball for 4 years .... it was about 8 years since he first enrolled full time at ND so he had exhausted his eligibility at a DI school but he had only gone to college 8 semesters so he had one year of eligibility left at a DII school and, of course, played at IUP one year.

                              - The Hardship Waiver/Medical Redshirt for injury requires the following .... 1) The injury has to occur before the first game of the 2nd half of the season, 2) The injury has to be season ending as documented by the players attending physician, 3) The player can not have played in more then 3 games or 30% of the seasons games whichever is higher..... another interesting aspect is that a Hardship Waiver/Medical Redshirt is granted by the teams conference not the NCAA (you apply for the Waiver to the conference)..... if you have already taken a normal redshirt, then a Medical Redshirt in another year will usually not save you another year of eligibility.

                              - There are some players that get a 6th year in DI or 11th semester in DII to complete their 4 years of eligibility ...... you have to apply to the NCAA for the 6th year and generally to be eligible you have to have lost two years due to injury (two Medical Redshirts) ..... if you have one year Medical Redshirt and one year normal redshirt, you usually won't be granted a 6th year.
