The later a Star in the making looks mammoth out there. Power and speed unreal. Corners both strong. Frosh DL Fisher a baller and Schockly real active. DL in good shape. Other frosh DL Mayr also looks good. Specialists solid.
Not even surprised that Tillman look pretty good. A part-time starter last year, he still tied with Easterling for the team lead in sacks (8 1/2) and tackle for loss (13.5). I think he will easily break double digits sacks this fall.

For the out-of-towners I think IUP should rent the Star Trek Transporter and beam people to the game. Then we wouldn't have to deal with long car rides, finding a hotel in Indiana, etc. If they could lock onto my coordinates I would attend every home game.

If Joe didn't charge Yankee Stadium beer prices he may get a few more students.

Administration has to wake up and get people in the seats. 5 things they could start this year.

            1. Make sure the IUP band is at all home games. If not make sure you have a fraternity or sorority theme activity going on.
            2. Have a huge tent in the one endzone and serve lunch. Kids could use their food account and purchase food and watch the game.
            3. Allow tailgating and have clear expections with the alcohol consumption.
            4. Charge students $1 admission and scan I-Card. The last two minutes of the game call a winner from scanned I-cards for a 50-50 type deal. If student is not there - oh well more money for IUP.
            5. Keep winning and make it fun for the fans.

            6. Long term - Improve the stadium - make it a football stadium and get rid of the track. Get seating close the game. Put the track elsewhere.

I'd settle for a can of raid to spray down the fence posts on the home side so the wasps don't dive bomb the fans in the top rows. I'm sure the press folks would like to see a new press box. Sooner or later that press box will wipe out section C - hopefully in the middle of the night when no one is in the stadium. On the plus side - at least the visitor side bleachers are no longer an accident waiting to happen.

Does IUP have a track/field program?

I understand you want the dollar raffle but students already get in for free. How much more incentive do you need? Today's society wants everything on a platter for them. Take take take... Past generations would pay and support!

Yes, IUP has both Men's and Women's track and field.

Ask people why they don't attend games and what would get them to attend games. Good starting point.

Obviously the beat-to-death topic, but, ...

One simple question is what is Slippery Rock doing differently that it is crushing IUP in the behinds-in-the-seats department?

The game-day atmospheres between the two are polar opposites. Hate to say it but SRU is lively. It's pretty rocking up there. IUP is, well, kind of lame.

We aren't the best audience to answer this question. We already like the product and attend whenever possible so our opinions will have bias. So, as the Groundhog said above, ...

What were the results your group found?

I'd prefer to chase the community (they spend the money).

And that is why I settle for a fresh paint job on the home side and a few cans of raid for the top row. Not much effort or cost there.
