Heard Hurdle may bring up a beer league softball pitcher to throw tonight. Give his rotation more rest.

It was as much a PR move as baseball move. The Yinzers loved it.

Archer has his moments but has been much more 'pinata' than anything near 'ace' the past couple years.

The Pirates sucked before and after the trade deadline. I told you I disagreed to the Bucs big day.

Ok, I blew that one. Shows how much Pgh is on my radar, though. It's great the Bucs are winning games again but the reality is with a .504 winning percentage they rank 10th in the NL out of 15 teams. It would take a near miracle for them to win their division at 8.5 games out (with 49 to go) and as far as the WC not including division leaders there are 6 teams ahead of them. Could it happen? It could. But I think come the 2nd week of October the Pirates players will be on vacation.

They were awesome! I remember I had all of their baseball cards. Good memories of that '79 World Series run.

I seemed to lose ALL interest in baseball shortly thereafter. Never followed it again.

Yes. The PGH sports media is reporting that the Pirates improved their pitching staff. I hope so because it's all about the pitching in October in case they happen to make it as a wild card.
