I believe they're now exclusively at Highmark Stadium (the soccer stadium you referenced). I still think that is an ideal location for Duquesne football.

That IS a pretty nice stadium being built! Do you know how many fans it may seat?

9,000. 12,000 with the knolls and SRO area.

Go to gobuffsgo.com. "athletics" tab. "facilities" tab. "Buffalo Stadium" tab. you can see all the renderings and a live cam on current construction.

I just read the following via web site:

"The 8,500 stadium seats will be constructed in long arcs along the west and east sides with an estimated total capacity of 12,000 with overflow berm seating and standing room only space at the concourse level. The stadium will offer opportunities for future expansion of up to 14,000 permanent seats."

Yes. Duquesne 'field' is horrendous. Parking is awful, too.

I'm really looking forward to the new venue. The field is below grade. Basically the middle of the stands will be ground level. Fans will be right up close to the action. Won't be a bad seat in the house. There is no designated visitor seating. It's all WT seating. Visitors will sit where they can get tickets. This could/should be a very intimidating place for visiting teams.

Based on the pecking order of lifetime giving to WT, previews of seating options begin April 1. General sales begin May 1. All the luxury boxes are already sold out. There is talk of building out more of those on the other side. If our program can get back to winning 8 plus games a year and competing for LSC championships and making the NCAA's regularly, our AD has told me it's very easy (and economical) to accommodate demand by adding seating between seasons financed by revenue bonds. Hopefully, that becomes reality. However, as he's told me time and again, 9,000 sold out screaming fans with another 2,000 SRO every Saturday is the kind of gameday atmosphere he's looking for. He wants WT FB to be a tough ticket to get. We're hungry for a winner.

Yes. It should be entirely neutral.

I love the optimism, but has WT ever drawn that well? They've had good seasons in the past.

Between the 2012 - 2014 seasons they had a couple home games per season with at least 10000 fans:

                          I did a little research:
                          Record Ave Rank
                          2018 6-5 6,649 10
                          2017 3-8 6,316 14
                          2016 6-5 7,264 13
                          2015 6-4 6,755 9
                          2014 6-5 6,575 14
                          2013 11-3 8,767 8
                          2012 12-3 10,379 5
                          2011 8-3 7,523 13
                          2010 8-4 10,760 2
                          2009 7-5 8,844 7
                          2008 11-2 11,896 2
                          2007 12-1 12,421 3
                          2006 11-2 10,637 3
                          2005 10-2 13,089 1

2005-2012 ave attendance was 10,693. 2013-1018 ave attendance was 7,054. So, yes, I think the 9,000 plus is very reasonable, if we have a solid contender that wins. Even in our crappy recent seasons, we're top 14 or better in D2. If Wt can return to the 10 plus wins seasons again, 9,000 plus average will be easy.

5 or 6 of those years WT exceeded Grand Valley in attendance.

Nice, hopefully they'll fill those new seats...and berms.
