Pick 'Em - Week 10

North Dakota State would be much better off staying where they are. Mount St. Mary's, located not far from me, used to be a powerhouse in small-college basketball and have barely been heard from since they went to Division I. Once in a while they do well in the Northeast Conference, one of the weakest D1 conferences, and end up a 16th seed in the NCAA tourney where they get blown away by a Kentucky or North Carolina.

In a sign of how things have changed over the years, I can remember the 1981 Ship football team defeating James Madison during the regular season and then losing to North Dakota State in the NCAA playoffs. That was an 18-6 game that was tied 6-6 at halftime.

It boils down to will NDSU bring in larger teams into the Fargo Dome in FBS? At 19k capacity I doubt it, same reason MAC teams can't get P5 schools to play there unless it's someone like Kansas, or Vanderbilt looking to fill an open date. In that case it's not worth the jump up IMO. Delaware is in the same situation stuck between do they jump up now or be content remaining permanently in FCS land.

Clarion (+28.5) at Edinboro: Somehow Clarion will keep this game entertaining for the first 3 quarters before coming apart in the last quarter

Kutztown at West Chester: Upset of the week the Rams stun the Golden Bears in OT

East Stroudsburg at Shepherd: ESU is vastly improved however they don't have enough weapons to go toe to toe with the Rams. Shepherd wins 54-29

IUP at Seton Hill: If the Hawks loss this game I'm certain the city would be burned to ashes lol. IUP cruises and salvages what is remaining of what was a promising season just 3 weeks ago.

Gannon at Mercyhurst: Bragging rights on the line and I'll take the home team +3

Bloomsburg at Millersville: Could the Huskies really loose to the Ville? Absolutely but I think with their bad luck this season they'll find a way to escape with a road win on a pretty unforgettable season

Lock Haven (+24.5) at Shippensburg: Ship knows they have to win big the last two games for any hope of sneaking into the 6/7 seed and getting a playoff berth. They'll pound the Bald Eagles +40

California at Slippery Rock: Vulcans are undefated ranked #4 in the country and somehow this seems like a game they lose lol. Rock knows lose and season is over so they get a key W +10

Oregon at Washington: Ducks need to win out to stay in the top 4, they're wins outside of Ohio State haven't been pretty and they have shown weak spots, they'll win by 7-14 points though

Auburn at Texas A&M: Aggies playoff hopes are done but they can still nab a NY6 Bowl game if they win out and they should handle Auburn at home.

Lafayette at Holy Cross: Crusaders +14

North Dakota State at South Dakota State: Bison ran through the league the last few years and finally SDSU knocked them off last spring. NDSU gets revenge and keeps their #2 ranking with huge road win.

Clarion (+28.5) ... simply not good, but I'm counting on just a 25-point loss in this one
Kutztown ... a few weeks ago I would have leaned more heavily toward KU, but watching West Chester go toe-to-toe with Shepherd in a shootout has me concerned about the pick
Shepherd ... The Warriors are a team on the rise over the past few seasons, but the Rams know the playoffs are at stake
IUP ... should be an easy win, but wouldn't be too shocked if they lost this. Although lose this one and that HC office chair may be the hottest seat in the PSAC.
Mercyhurst ... sounded like Gannon may be coming unhinged here toward the end of the season
Millersville ... possibly grasping to make up some ground on this one, but a solid defense. If they can put some offense together they could possibly take it.
Shippensburg (-24.5) ... if the Raiders are up by 20 points, 4th and 1 at the goal line with :02 left in the game--GO FOR IT!
Slippery Rock ... hoping to see Shepherd draw Clarion in the final week of the regular season

Clarion (+28.5) - Looks like Clarion is down to 1 of the 3 rb's they started the year with but expect them to atleast score 1 td.. Nice to see Clarion is 1 of the few teams still putting up game notes. Boro playing Beamer ball can only stretch this spread out so much.

Kutztown - KUTZ has very little room for error with WC and SRU/Cal next week.

Shepherd

IUP - if this isnt a beat down something is wrong. More wrong than it already is. SH is on their 4th QB? Defense should dominate.

Gannon - Marty has owned this series but Gannon won the spring game without the current starting QB. Probably a close hard fought rivalry game. Hurst will probably call out all the dusty parts of the playbook to try to win Marty's last game in the series....maybe even have a wr catch more passes than the FB's or something real crazy like 4 wr one the field at one time.

Bloomsburg

Shippensburg -24.5 - this was a harder pick than intially it seemed since LH has covered this pt spread the last two weeks vs Kutz and WC but I expect a big week from SHIP and not sure which QB plays for LH. Who knows..

Slippery Rock - can Cal keep winning with zero running game? One off week by the QB and theyre screwed. Can SRU protect the QB? Maybe the new QB running will be the difference.
