Just a little bit.....they are handing it to the Pee Sack.

This was done as Coastal Carolinas comes online.

It's really a reset to the early 2010's when Region 1 was overloaded and Region 2 was half the size.

The MEC gets a bump too.....

Most years the CIAA has a good team or two but by and large I agree the GMAC was trending up. The PSAC has taken firm control of SR1. The last three SR1 Finals have been PSAC vs PSAC.

Honestly, PSAC teams need to start playing other conferences more. Getting tired of playing Assumption every year. I wanna see KU take on the MEC more. Or play more games in the south (CIAA) to possibly expand the recruiting range. First 2 games of the season should be dedicated to non-PSAC teams

The mec and the sac are suppose to play to open up season starting 2025 or 2026

if mec stays at 10, that means sac game and then finding another game… 2 non conference games with the psac playing 1 and the cilia’s playing 1 will mean more psac teams in post season

Nobody can, or wants to pay for the travel. Back in the day IUP used to schedule an interesting out of region opponent and do a home-and-home with them. Catawba and Nebraska Omaha come to mind, and they opened the season with North Dakota State, North Dakota, Northwest Missouri State in the early 90s. Haven’t really seen that in recent years.

The four-year deal between IUP and Ashland is about as good as it's going to get.

Week 1 is usually terrible. Lots of blowouts and meatball games.

Frank wasn’t afraid to travel but it’s probably more a financial reason these days.

I wouldn't say 'more' but likely the continuation of the PSAC getting four teams and the other three getting one each.

Those travel budgets are long, long gone.

I suspect Frank was able to get a travel budget up until he got pushed out by Dr Front Porch…because the big travel stopped immediately once The Lou Tepper arrived and neither Curt or Torts have ventured out.

It paid to be The Big Guy.

                        :-)

The Big Guy will be forever missed.

I imagine the GMAC commissioner/ADs/coaches are probably not too happy with this realignment.

Not at all. They at least had a shot to win a Regional is SR1. That's pretty much gone now.
