Philadelphia sports is been in far better shape in the last ten years. What bright spot has there been since your last Cup win that is now a decade old.

Stillers are stale and now nothing more than a mid franchise...really not any better than the Bungles

The Pirates are a farm team. Their success so far this season won't last long when they trade away the good young players for nothing because the owner is cheap.

The Potbellied Snow Chickens hadn't made the playoffs in four years. What is there to be jealous of...

Went bankrupt in 1975.....while the better franchise across the state won the Cup that year.

The purposely tanked in 1984 to get Mario LePew because the ownership was so bad they were again dead broke and close to folding the team.

Went bankrupt a second time in 1997 because they doled out contracts they couldn't pay for being in a small market......

Tanked again for a few years that yielded more generational talent falling in their lap...

Then Mario LePew must have given Buttman a few handies in 2005 to be "awarded" the top lottery pick that delivered Cindy to Yinzerburgh. That would make 5 generational players drafted by the Flightless Waterfowl in 20 years!!!! Just don't look at Cindy was training with Mario LePew before the pick was "awarded" to the Snow Chickens. Nothing shady there.

The franchise is a trailer park queen who was handed a scratch off lottery ticket that was a 20 million dollar winner.

The Flyers have not drafted a generational talent in the draft. Ever.. They got fleeced getting Lindros that tuned out to be a horrible trade because they gave up too much and they were always a few pieces short for years and watching inferior franchises win the Cup. They never got so bad for so long to rebuild with these top players coming out of juniors. So...no Cups.

This current rebuild was year 14....and maybe they finally have some young players that will produce and put us back into Cup Contention. They are not there yet.

Oh yeah...I ragged on Ed Snider for making player moves that undermined the chances to win more Cups...because they were dubious win now moves....but the man built two arenas with his money. Not the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania handing one over to the Snow Chickens.... He built businesses around the Flyers that kept the Flyers on fairly solid financial ground when other teams were struggling. He launched PRISM which was a regional channel that ended up with TV rights to the Phillies, Sixers and of course the Flyers. He started Spectacor. So....Ed Snider did things the right way business wise and was never rewarded by the NHL while Snow Chickens were owned by sleazy buffoons and former players who were incompetent and got rewarded over and over. That is really the only thing Flyers fans should be jealous about...Pittsburgh incompetency being rewarded and Cups won that a fan base that never showed up when they sucked and shady ownership didn't deserve to win.............

It's so cute yinzer hate Philadelphia and our teams when in reality....we don't care too much about Yinzerburgh in sports and the only reason we hate the Potbellied Snow Chickens now is because Cindy is a diving, whiny little *****....i'm sure she'll cry to the refs this series like always. When Mario LePew was the face of the franchise...we hated the Rangerettes. We hated the Deviled Eggs. We even hated the Long Island Fishsticks more. We probably even hated Montreal and Boston more. The Flightless Waterfowl were a joke to us for many years and then when they finally won it still didn't implore us to hate them more. Nope...it was Cindy...being a little *****. When she's finally gone because the menopause is too much....yinz will fall off our radar again and Public Enemy #1 on the ice will revert back to the Rangerettes and their knuckle dragging fanbase.

I’d say both teams are playing with house money. The Penguins were supposed to be one of the worst teams in hockey. Anything they do in the playoffs is gravy. It would be great for Crosby, Malkin and Letang to have one last deep run, but they’re 3 time Cup champs and first ballot hall of famers either way.

Ok, that’s really no different than it is here. No one here cares about the Eagles and the Pirates have been too bad for too long for there to be any ill will towards any baseball team but our own.

I don’t even think there’s a ton of hate for the Flyers among anyone but the really hardcore Pittsburgh hockey fans. It certainly doesn’t match the hate Philly has for the Penguins. Our team has 5 cups in 35 years and yours hasn’t won one in 51. We mostly just laugh at the Flyers at this point. Things will flare up a bit during this series, but it will mostly fade away once the series ends, regardless of the result.

I grew up in western PA. I live in Delaware now. I year or two ago, I went to a BWW's to watch an out of market Penguins game. The place was filled with Flyers fans and the Flyers were playing at the same time and were on most of the other TVs. The Flyers scored a goal in their game and there was a little cheering in the crowd. Then the Penguins gave up a goal and the place erupted. Flyers fans hate the Penguins more than they like the Flyers. The 5 Cups really got to them.

My San Jose Sharks missed the playoffs for the seventh year in a row.. At least they're guaranteed to finish the season with a winning record which is a big improvement over last year's measly 20 wins and only 19 the year before that.

They were awarded the lottery pick behind closed doors. After he was training that summer with Mario LePew who was facing another round of financial issues. The lockout was due to teams in the toilet financially…specifically the Snow Chickens and the Ottawa Trojen Condoms…

Buttman basically handed him to Mario. Just like his rigged it for Las Vegas to be a dominate team right out of the gate. Previous expansion teams were never set up like that…Buttman is an ass wipe.

Ugh, as a Devils fan (the primary exception to my Philadelphia sports fandom) the 2025-26 was mostly a season to forget, especially after that early season 8 game winning streak. On top of that, my AHL team, the Phantoms (due to their location in my native Lehigh Valley, even if they are affiliated with the Flyers), also missed the playoffs, despite the AHL having a 1980s NHL style playoff bracket where almost everyone gets in. The Devils and Phantoms went a combined 1-4-3 in games I attended this season (Devils 1-3-0, Phantoms 0-1-3).

I did get to games at both UBS Arena (Islanders) and PPG Paints Arena (Penguins) for the first time (both Devils losses; at least the one at Belmont Park wasn't their 9-0 loss). Both are nice arenas, not as good as T-Mobile Arena (Las Vegas) but probably better than the other NHL arenas where I've seen games. (I've now gone to games for 15 different teams at 18 different arenas, 14 of which are current NHL venues.) There's an outside chance I could still get to a Utah Mammoth game this season if they are still alive in the playoffs in mid-May; I'm making a work trip to Salt Lake City. (I do intend to go to a AAA baseball Salt Lake Bees game when I'm there.)

I hated the Deviled Eggs in the late 90's/Early 2000's. They were Public Enemy #1 on ice in Philly then....and I don't care if that hit Thug Stevens laid on Lindros "was clean"....to hit someone like that who already had a history of concussions was a bit inhumane...I don't care he should have been skating with his head up. If anyone did that to Cindy during her career, the player would have been banned or thrown in jail. But it happened to Lindros and he asked for it because he didn't want to play for the ****storm of a franchise in Quebec....and the fact that they moved to Denver proved he was right about that....and he was a Flyer so it was all okay because the Flyers were meanies in the 1970's and nobody ever got over it.
