I didn’t order from Tri Pi that often. Nap’s was the first I went to and I mostly stuck with it. If I wanted pizza on Sundays I’d sometimes order from Papa John’s, not because I liked their pizza that much, but because they had a promo where you could get a one topping for half price if the Yankees won on Saturday for 2 or 3 of the years I was at BU.“No matter how badly things get blown apart, we will always plant flowers again.”

The Inn at Turkey Hill, The Farmhouse at Turkey Hill, and the Turkey Hill Brewing Company. Take your pick of upscale dining, a night at the inn, or casual dining and beer in an Amish built barn. Serving Husky Lager about a mile from campus off Lightstreet Road and located at 991 Central Road.Originally posted by TheBigCat2192 View PostFor those visiting Bloomsburg I'd suggest some of the following:
- New Bloomsburg Diner: It's a diner. It serves your normal diner fare, but in my experiences there you get a good portion for the price. They also have their own little parking lot, which is a bit of a rarity on the main drag.
- West End Ale Haus: Good atmosphere and food, and usually a solid tap list. They don't open til noon on Saturdays, so don't linger too long on those days with a 2PM kickoff. If you're doing an overnighter (either Friday into Saturday or Saturday into Sunday) and want dinner instead of lunch, I'd suggest getting there earlier in the evening as the crowd usually trended more towards students as the night goes on.
- Quaker Steak and Lube: Only an option if you have a car, as it's at the Columbia Mall plaza right outside of town. Might be the best choice for anyone with young kids since the vulgar collegians are less prominent here than the Ale Haus.
- For pizza I used to swear by Napoli's (or Nap's as students would frequently call it).
- For sandwiches I'd suggest Steph's Subs.
- If you're doing an overnighter and have money to burn, you could try La Malbec. Pricey, but the entrees are good and different than most of the bar fare, and they probably have the best selection of liquors and cocktails in town. I wouldn't suggest this if you have kids, or if your only clothes are cargo shorts and a graphic T.

I never made it out to any of the Turkey Hill family of establishments when I was a student (that pesky “don’t drink and drive” thing), so I couldn’t recommend them in good faith. Add ‘em to the list.Originally posted by Bart View Post

For Scranton and Lackawanna
Food -
Haggerys Tavern - a mile from the stadium. Arguably best wings in the area.
Zaleskis clubhouse - in South Scranton. Right up there with Haggertys, but they have your traditional mom and pop food. Devil pierogies are great.
Glider Diner - like Rockn said. It’s not what it used to be but solid diner food.
Pizza - this area is known for it and it is not your traditional style. Square pizza is more common and order by the “tray”…not pie. Old forge is well known for it, but it’s a 15 minute drive from the stadium. Plus, IMO, I’ll leave a list of what I feel is better.
Alfredos in South Scranton. Sloppier than normal, it’s solid.
Maroni’s in West Scranton. The round is thinner than the square. If you go with toppings pepperoni and sausage combo on the square is very good.
Pizza ny pappas - smaller personal pizzas. It’s downtown near the college.
Davinci Pizza. Also downtown and right near papas.
If you want to travel I recommend Andy’s pizza in jessup (20 minute drive). Different. Air fried. Get meatballs
if you want to do the old forge style I recommend Arcaro and Gennel, Revellos or Salernos. They are all within a block. The white pizza is unique and popular. So is the hot pepper and shrimp pizza.
Bar scenes
Backyard Alehouse - probably one of the better sports type bars. Eric Miller, qb from the Bloomsburg 2000 national championship game team is a co owner. They have an outdoor smoker so you can get brisket and whatnot. Also if you come on a Friday they have almost 200 different beers so you can enjoy a beverage too.
Bennys- similar to backyard. More bar type food and no smoker. Cheeseburgers are stuffed and popular.
v-Spot is right across from the stadium so you can check out a local dive bar before or after the game…or at halftime.
Dinner scenes
16th ward and the AV are two fine restaurants in downtown. 1/2 mile from the stadium.
Coopers seafood in downtown. Not as good as it used to be but still up there.
if you like the office there is a giant gift shop at coopers seafood too. Clothing and memorabilia. Also, the Steamtown mall has the Scranton welcomes you sign if you want to take a picture there. It’s a touristy thing. There is also a neat aquarium inside the mall too.
I’ll be going to some games if anyone Wants to meet up, or has questions, DM me.
parking should be fine as you can park at Scranton high school. Tons of spots.Last edited by ESU Warrior; 08-28-2026, 05:12 AM.

I've heard there's a major difference.

It is Alfredo’s. I never heard of pizza by Alfredo. To be honest the service there is terrible, and you could wait a while. But, it’s one of the better ones IMO.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View Post

Pizza by Alfredo is bad. It's real bad. It's like eating a hot circle of garbage.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View Post

Seton Hill doesn't produce its own video feed - they contract out to the local cable access crew, Westmoreland Sports Network or whatever. The same crew broadcasts a high school game of the week the night before. Its possible that crew wasn't available for a Thursday night game.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View PostNo video in Greensburg. Welcome back to D2.

Westmoreland did ultimately have a video feed going, but the service was choppy throughout most of the first quarter. At times it looked like watching a bad cable signal, and there were instances when the screen was entirely black with only audio coming through.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View Post
