So it looks like the best way to increase your chances of winning d-2 is through transfer portal. Seems like Valdosta had a very large # of d-1 transfers last year as well. Just curious on the percentages of this number with teams still in playoffs.

Come on man, quit trying to go there. Yeah, we have some D-1 transfers, but 51 -- not even close. You can see for yourself on the online roster. Also, once we've played football for 100 years (ahem), and have established a recruiting footprint like LR, then we may only have a few D-1 transfers. Heck man, we haven't even completed our fourth year of ball!! Most of these transfers have family/roots in Florida, and the state schools in Florida have some of the lowest in-state tuition in the nation. Financially, it makes sense -- come on home, and play some ball if you're eligible.
Having transfers isn't against the rules, but it has helped UWF grow the program. As a matter of fact, most of UWF's athletic teams have a solid number of transfers (mostly JC and CC graduates), some more than others.

Most of our players, lol, maybe you should look at the roster again. Maybe 15 D1 transfers, the majority of which were FCS. The rest are from D2 or Junior/Community Colleges.
