LOl... we'll have some cheerleaders, band members, Red Hots, and football players running across the street after the game to graduate.
Thanks.

Notre Dame (OH) gave us more than we wanted but it worked out for us in the end.

Looks like VSU has advantage in the kicking game.

Just saw that Coloroda Mines leads the country in sacks with 52. VSU leads against sacks with 2. Interesting.

Attendance at Valdosta is mind boggling for a school that size and that successful. Very low attendance when we were there and looks like they struggle with attendance most all games. Do any GSC schools draw good attendance? Just curious if it could be the visitors have such a long way to travel.

The VSU attendance issue is a mixed of things.

Seeing less than 5k in those stands really get under my skin. 50k+ people live in Valdosta. 100k+ in the county overall. Then take into account all the people living in the counties surrounding Valdosta that have to drive into the city daily for different reasons.

A very long and detailed thread is coming after the season is over. I have been saving my attendance comments for post-season convo.

Will look forward to that.

I think some of it is that the every day person does not know D2 like we all do. About 18 years ago or so I found this website. I was like a sponge reading about all the conferences and teams. I joined the message board, got bumped out due to an upgrade of the website at the time, then rejoined a couple of years later.
This site(thanks Brandon)has a wealth of information for a newbie. Anyway, the point being is that people enjoy what they know and what they understand. SEC and ACC football is engrained in this area. The history of both conferences are passed on from generation to generation. Yes, they may have VSU degrees but they go to UGA,FSU , UF, games. I myself grew up going to FSU games with my dad.
Maybe we need to find a way to pass on the history and the makeup of what is D2 football and sports.
Now that I have been exposed to the superior playoff system of D2 and the inexpensive ease of watching quality D2 games from good seats close to the action, I prefer watching and following D2 games and teams throughout the season since EVERYONE has a chance to play for the title.
I'll second that. Here in Colorado, CU, CSU and even Air Force are second class citizens anyway. No shot to ever compete for a title. I wish more people would come see the game day atmosphere and competitiveness of what Mesa, Pueblo and Mines are putting out on a year in year out basis. I think most would be pleasantly surprised.

High school football takes center state in V-town.
For the national recognition we get, our attendance is embarrassing.
