    Re: Northwest @ Grand Valley

I sure wish I had that Mike McFadden hit from an earlier year. Much better.:victory:

As for this game, it's a mystery for me. I can't tell if NW is like an Ashland squad this season or an Indy type. History leads me to believe much more like Ashland and NW posters point to Indy type. As for these Lakers, it's that time of year, so I suspect most teams have their bruises. GV has their share, but I have to lean on the recent battle testing paying some dividends.

I do wonder how many of the players see the history of these 2 having any impact. Heck, same thing for the fans. It's been a bit since they've played, but what a couple of juggernauts those teams were.

Here's hoping for 05/06 type results (albeit that I would clearly enjoy a wider margin.)

Good video that GVSU just put out. Good stuff here for both GVSU and NWMS fans.

I don't think we're Indy, because I don't have a lot of respect for their program. I think we're like a lot of NW teams that didn't win it all. We've got a pretty good defense, and an offense that can be stopped. We're capable of winning, but I'd rather be facing Ferris than you guys. They were pretty one dimensional and I'm not sure how you lost to them. I hope you play like that again this weekend. It helps our chances.

Hah! Those weather dorks are a crapshoot when it comes to having any chance calling the weather correct more than 24 hours out. Those crazy ass lakes to the west and east and lurking at the north staring down at Lubbers Stadium can wreck havoc on anyone's attempt to predict weather up there . . . especially with us still being four days out. Been up there too many times. Weather comes at you out of nowhere like Muhammad Ali's left hook. I'm predicting a sunny 72-degrees at kickoff with a slight dip to -18 below and sleet by the time Northwest is all smiles and boarding the bus for home.

Wish I could make it up there. Warms my heart to see these two programs back at it.
Past Bear Cat championship teams seemed to have a defense with big athletic linemen who were able to control line of scrimmage and allow linebackers to clean things up. In looking at your roster it appears that the size of your defensive line is not as big as in the past and not as dominating/

Not so big on the interior this year but they have surprised me with their production. All of them can run. Roberts and Eskew will be a handful.
