Oof, that's a big one. Guess we'll see if he stays or not. If he doesn't, maybe the "how is TA keeping guys there" narrative is over lol

Yeah unless Jason Williams comes back, or they get a portal guy, there's nothing but RFr right now next in line.

Williams already posted about ending his career with a championship so wouldn’t hold out hope on that front

Where did you see this? I haven't seen anything other than losing a few young players who didn't play or the OL with one year of eligibility left.

                It's on his Twitter: https://x.com/sefa3saip

Looks like he has been offered by Bowling Green and Western Michigan so far.

Thanks for sharing that! Next man up. He was a great bulldog and will be missed for sure.

So, it sounds like FSU only lost two guys to the portal this year who were starters. It's not too bad, to be honest, with the transfer portal being the way it is right now. I am happy to see Carson and Chambliss stayed, too. Who knows what will happen after spring ball, but I'm sure these guys want to be part of this dynasty. Go Dogs!!

In terms of coaching news, the HC at Roosevelt is leaving to take the same position at D3 Illinois Wesleyan. Surprisingly not the first time this year a sitting head coach at a D2 school leaves for a D3 head coaching position

Unfortunately, even though there's "transfer windows" transfers can still happen at any point. Last year we saw a lot of players transfer upon the conclusion of spring ball, as well. So all us D2 schools still have plenty more time to monitor players leaving.

That's interesting. I wonder if he saw that the GLIAC is a bit tougher than anticipated and doesn't think success is going to come easy at Roosevelt. I don't know what Roosevelt's financial situation is like, but I would have to assume he's not getting paid more at Illinois Wesleyan than he was at Roosevelt. Right?

We will also pick up some transfers like the kid that was at Notre Dame if he is healthy. We should continue to reload.

I feel like that has to be the reason. I know nothing about the financials at either school, but he built the program in Chicago from the ground-up, back when they were still called Robert Morris and were just starting a football program in 2010. He's been the only head coach the school has ever known for 15 years, and he hadn't felt the inclination to leave any time before then; the only thing that changed (other than the name of the school) was the conference affiliation. He was a decent enough coach at the NAIA level, so maybe he feels that he'd do better in D3 than sticking out the jump to D2. Although the new D3 conference he's jumping to is certainly no pushover either, as they've had a team in the D3 title game for the past 4 seasons, so who knows.

In any case, it'll be a good litmus test for Roosevelt to see who they hire next: now that they got a taste of what the GLIAC is like, will they use this as an opportunity to try to get someone that can elevate them to their competitions level, or are they content just being the team that got the GLIAC to an even number of football programs?
