Absolutely stoked for a chance to renew this rivalry. Some highly regarded games played between 2010-2015. At the height of the rivalry, it determined a playoff spot. I always felt the programs respected each other as they were often looked at as yin and yangs of each other.Originally posted by DaleDude View PostWSU will get a test next season when they meet Hillsdale. Second game of the new season at Hillsdale. This game renews a rivalry that originally began in 1909.
As for Wayne's current situation, rooting for the new coaching staff as they will be placed in a tough situation. To be candid, it literally cannot get much worse than 2025 so there is that.

Ya gotta wonder if they put a lot of time and effort into a search for a new coach. Wish him the best but damn...WSU has the recourses to be elite...Originally posted by NewEraWarrior View Post

Most likely not. It likely has more to do with the terrible state of Wayne state Athletics despite their tremendous advantage of being in a large city with no d1 competition to speak of. Believe it or not, it's not just men who can be terrible at their job. Women are also often terrible at their job. When you're an AD, there are measurable indicators or your success or lack there of. Alumni, who often donate $$ to their alma maters would rather not go a few years without a football victory.Originally posted by tip79 View Post
Is that because she is a woman?

That is what I was getting at. I was asking the Wayne Statesman why they called the AD a "DEI hire?" Is it because she is a woman?Originally posted by dvaara View Post

Yes, that's what I meant. IMO she was hired primarily because she's a woman not because she was the best candidate for the job.Originally posted by tip79 View Post

Maybe Wayne State should hire a woman for football coach, then, since clearly men aren't doing a very good job.Originally posted by WayneStatesman View Post
