Bands and cheer squads also receive financial assistance to attend and participate. Teams are responsible for transportation, additional nights in a hotel, and additional meals. The Texarkana, Arkansas Advertising and Promotions Committee grants funding to the bowl from the City of Texarkana's 1 cent sales tax. Those funds, along with corporate sponsors, banquet, game ticket, and merchandise sales, allows the bowl to operate. The benefactor of the Farmer's Bank and Trust Live United Bowl is the United Way of Greater Texarkana and the bowl provides a financial donation each year. It was founded to operate this way and it continues to welcome football fans for what we believe to be a one of a kind experience the first weekend in December each year.

Assuming the MIAA gets (2) teams in the playoffs:
1. Where would NW be in the Bowl Game Pecking Order?
2. Does NW accept a Bowl Game bid if selected?

Every teams goal is to make the Playoffs, but the bowl game is a good incentiveLast edited by mtxe; 10-19-2023, 08:51 PM.

Would much rather see that sort of coverage for a school like GVSU, Ferris, Pitt, NW etc. Pair a big historically good school with an up and coming program and it could be a hit.
People would connect more with the players and coaches at this level rather than laughing at the ridiculousness that was Independence Juco.

Didn’t make it myself when MWSU played in the Live United Bowl, but everything I heard was outstanding.
I guess I get why a team would have a playoffs-or-nothing attitude, but it’s kinda crappy imo. There are a finite number of opportunities to play college football - if you love the game, saying yes to the chance to play one more time ought to be a no-brainer. To quote the inventor of football “you gotta do it for the kids!”
