I'd think if NW doesn't make a strong run at AD it would show NW's new leadership is lacking.
Curious, did the "friends with kids in the program" have kids in the program under AD to actually have some sort of frame of reference to compare it to? Parents ***** about everything, this isn't HS where the parents are right there and know a lot more about the team. Everyone else knows everything when it's not working.

If the NW leadership is hanging their hopes on getting a guy to make a lateral move, I would say they need new leadership.

There were some with kids in both eras...the stuff going on now is closer to the 80's and early 90's culture vs. MT's and AD's culture.

The examples I was hearing made it rather easy to identify the differences.

Sometimes things are not as they seem when people don't really know what is going on. Speculation by Message Board warriors isn't necessarily the most accurate source of information even when they claim to be talking to the people involved.

Assume you were in say AD's shoes and people you know are asking about what you will or won't do...would you be 100% sure they won't come to a place like this message board or even out in public and spill the beans on what you'd really like to do? Is there any chance you might tell them something other than the full truth because you don't want it to get out?

The "Firing Season" is getting closer. Do schools wait until the season is over or do they pull the trigger and get a headstart on finding a new coach?
What are you hearing as to who may be in trouble?

IF UCO is planning on taking the leap to D1 relatively soon, I would think AD would want to stay on for that move and use it as a reason to continue to climb

Someone posted that Schurig is retiring.

I would think Bradley's seat might be getting warm, and I hate that because it seems like he's a great guy and doing it the right way.

He has had 4 full years in the program, and has had one year that was close to a winning record. I imagine if Brian Wright had that kind of resume, or if TA has that kind of resume, we would be wanting him to be let go... He may be doing it the right way, but for whatever reason, it isn't working... I just don't know what it will take to get that program to be decent.

New Lincoln of the league. One playoff trip in its D2 history and around a 35 win pct. against current MIAA. That's not good and big brother is right down the road.

He’s friendly fired. Basically said if there isn’t improvement they’d like him to step down. Associate head coach DC Zach Watkins is presumed to take over. He’s young has been a pillar of the program as a player and coach. Probably mix up the staff some when he takes over. They have done well in Topeka but have no presence in KC recruiting. Schurig was loyal to staff and player coaches to a fault. He also hired his son to two major position groups with no experience. Time to bring in fresh guys

I loved Watkins while he was in Hays. Will be interesting. Be interesting what he does with the staff.

Where does NW land in terms of changes to staff, assuming they finish 6-5?

Is even 6-5 too optimistic given how NW played this year?

It’s do able. For your complaints about offense, you’ve been able to put up points.

They have moved the ball in most of their games, but apparently there is zero interest in putting an emphasis on protecting it. The amount of turnovers between this year and last has been absurd.
